Enchanted for 4 yr old?

My 4 yo DD loved it. I can't wait to buy the DVD when it comes out.

Same here! (She did sit on my lap during the dragon part.) It was a great movie! I loved that there were lots of things to keep older kids and people engaged too. Besides, DD4, I went with my mother, DS8, and DNephew8 and we all give it two thumbs up!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thanks again for all the replies. I had used the common sense media site before, but had forgotten all about it. Thanks Elmo888:thumbsup2
I think I will probably take DD this weekend if it doesn't leave the theater on Fri.

My DD4 1/2 loved Enchanted! We got a free ticket to see it when we bought the Ratatouille DVD from Best Buy. We saw it the day after Christmas. My DD keeps prancing around the house talking about Edward. He is hardly in the movie and she talks about him all the time. It it so funny because she has know idea what the name of the "real man" is! She loves Giselle and I hope we get a chance to catch a glimpse of her at WDW in a few weeks. All in all, the movie is good, not great. It is enjoyable for a 4 year old, but I am sure they will completely miss the plot since the 2 animated characters do not end up together in the end. The scenes with the witch/dragon are a bit disturbing for a youngster (I told my DD that the dragon was just a robot) since it is not animated and looks very realistic. If your child scares easily, I would definitely recommend waiting until this comes out on DVD and you can watch it at home.

I took my 4.5 yo and 2 yo with their cousins last week. DD4 kept saying that she didn't want to go because she saw the previews with the witch. When her cousins said they were going, she couldn't resist an outing with her them. She ended up loving the movie. She tends to get scared of things easily, and won't even watch the stage show at the MK because Maleficent is in it.
I loved the movie, and was excited to see one of my favorite stage actresses in it. Idina Menzel who won the Tony for "Wicked" was Patrick Dempsy's girlfriend. I was just sad that she didn't get to sing.

I say try it. The worst that could happen is that you leave early.

My 4.5 yo daughter was bored by the movie. At the halfway point she was fidgety and by 3/4 of the way through she wanted to go home. I convinced her to stay & wait it out, but she said she liked Alvin and the Chipmunks better.

Talk about "to each his (or her!) own" -- we just got back from the Chipmunks movie and my two thought it was too long by about 20 minutes.
