Has anyone seen 8 mile?

I'm over 40 (just;) ) so maybe not the average age group to like the film, but I loved it.

I thought it was brilliant and have seen it twice and would happily see it again:D

I'd be interested to know what you thought if you've seen it:eek:

not seen it yet Kaz, but Becky loved it so we may go together!:bounce:

Mandy,

I went with my DD age 16 and we both loved it,you should go with Becky:)

It was a bit disconcerting that we both fancied him though;)

You get to see his butt,'nuff said:p

I have and thought it was very good and was very surprised at Eminems acting ability.

What does being 40 have anything to do with it!

My mum is 51 and listens to Eminem all the time in her truck, albeit the clean CD version!

hi kazzie, funny thing my daughter only said tonight that she and her school friends wanted to see it, but she is only 14 and its a 15 is it a lot of swearing or nudity (without giving much away) I don't let her go to pictures to see films older than her age but she has seen videos and dvd's at friends houses, and told me after the event. As for the swearing they hear it on so many things these days that a lot of the time they don't even notice it i think. I have never used bad language in front of them its other people around, but getting back to the film i wouldn't mind seeing it what do you think thanks lynne x

Hi Lynne,

I have 'let' my daughter see 15 certificates before she was 15 and my son 12 certificates just before he was 12 if I thought they would be Ok.I am mostly not concerned about the language as the films contain nothing that an average teenager doesn't hear on a daily if not hourly basis.I am far more connnncerned about them seeing s** and violence in films they are (or it's me who feels they are!) not ready to see.

The language wouldn't concern me in 8 mile for a 14 year old (though I guess some may disagree with that) what I wouild be apprehensive about is the one s** scene in the film.It is very graphic and my own daughter age 16 said afterwards she was surprised that it was in a 15 certificate film,we thought an 18 certificate would have been more appropriate.

It is only the one scene,so you might need to decide based on the types of films she already watches. If they watch the teen type movies my daughter did at her age,she and her friends might not make anything of it anyway.I would have allowed my DD to see it when she was 14,but that is a personal decision again others might not approve of that:rolleyes:

It's good she discussed it with you, as chances are she could go and see it anyway without your knowledge so thats healthy sign!

Let me know what you decide:p

I find it incredibly intersting that so many Brits seem to have enjoyed that film.

I haven't seen it, as it didn't look like something that would appeal to me, but perhaps I'll give it a look when it comes out on DVD.
