EMH - what else is open?

Hi,

I have the list of rides and attractions which are open at all the parks during the AM and PM EMH's, from the WDW website. But (and most especially during the PM EMH's), what else is open? Are the shops open? The restaurants? Are the street performers there?

The shops are open. Street performers are performing. In medium and heavy seasons, they often do a second fireworks show for you. Not sure if the sit-down restaurants are serving that late, though. Oh yeah, even some of the people who can't ride the rides hang around for the late shopping.

At AK, the only PM EMH I went to, the shops (except for 1 or 2) were NOT OPEN!!! And most of the carts that sell pop ice cream etc were closed. The trails were closed and many of the animal exhibits were not lighted so you couldn't see in them. You could not even go into Africa(CM sent people away). I was very disappointed as we wanted to do some shopping in Africa. THat said, Kali river at night after dark was so much better than during the daylight. The fire area was really really amazing(usually during the day it is ok in my opinion), but the darkness and going through the trees in the rafts were so cool. That alone made it worth going. Our whole raft got soaked by a huge wave on the drop(not just one or two seats, but everyone). We had a blast. The line was about 20 minutes long so it was not bad. And this was the last week of July.
