When we went in February we were lucky enough to have EMH every day. I know this doesn't always happen, but for those who have stayed on and offsite, is the lure of EMH greater than the cheaper offsite prices?
We have Dream APs too, so whichever is cheaper hotel is the one we go for.
Having said that, up til now, onsite hotels with Dream AP discount have worked out cheaper for us than the associated offsite hotels. So we have always had EMH.
EMH would swing it for me if there were not a huge difference in price - EMH is a real value-for-money perk as far as I'm concerned.
If everyone in your party is staying at an offsite hotel, then they all need Dream APs to be able to get EMH.
But as I said above, one Dream AP holder could get discounts on a Disney onsite hotel room, all your party could then stay there, and you'd all get EMH.

do remember (which we didn't know last time we went) that if you stay in a Disney hotel your park tickets are included for the duration of your stay.
We stayed at explorers last time (we did book everything seperately) and the cost of hotel and tickets cost make it about the same as a Disney hotel (we are staying in Cheyenne this time)
I saw that suggestion here earlier so that's where I've booked for my trip in May. The rooms are very reasonable in price compared to the onsite Disneyland hotels!
