EMH - "up to" 3 hours...

We'll be there in Aug, and I'm finding it a bit difficult to plan specifics because evening EMH says "up to 3 hours later." For example, we'll be in MK on 8/20 and studios on 8/21, both of which are evening EMH. Park normally closes at 10, so will they be open until 1 am? I'd assume so, but it says "up to" 3 hours after closing time.

And Epcot has morning EMH on 8/22....normal hours are 9 am for FW, 11 am for WS. Does the park really open at 6 am FW and 8 am WS?

Also, how does EMH affect resort transportation? Does everything start running earlier and/or continue running later?

One more question please from the terribly confused.....at what point in the day do we have to go get wristbands to participate? Or can we get them that day at our resort? We'll be at SOG if it makes a difference. Thank you in advance!

Morning Extra Magic Hour occurs one hour prior to regularly scheduled park opening. That means if the park is scheduled to open at 9 a.m. to the general public, the Extra Magic Hour begins at 8 a.m. Transportation for the park offering Morning Extra Magic Hour will begin 30 minutes earlier than the opening time.

NOTE: You MUST present a valid Key to the World Card (Resort ID) at the park's turnstiles.

Evening Extra Magic Hours typically extend three hours beyond a park's scheduled closing time. You'll need to obtain a wristband at the theme park by presenting a valid Key to the World Card at one of several designated locations no sooner than two hours prior to park close.

NOTE: There has been some confusion regarding the new Magic Your Way tickets and Extra Magic Hour. If your Magic Your Way ticket DOES NOT have the Park Hopper option, you will NOT be able to visit more than one park per day. This means that if you want to take advantage of Extra Magic Hour, you must be sure to visit the park offering it that day or evening.

Example: You visit Magic Kingdom in the morning. Epcot is the Evening Extra Magic Hour park of the day. You MAY NOT go to Epcot that evening if your Magic Your Way ticket does not have the Park Hopper option.

I believe that the "up to" is an out for Disney if they choose to close earlier due to already late hours. An example, if the park is already scheduled to close at 12:00 midnight (as in Tuesdays this July), three hours might keep it open until 3:00 am

Just my guess why it might be worded in that way.

We were there Dec 23 2005 - Jan 2 2006 and while we were there they had the EMH to 3am. Although we couldnt participate in them because we stayed of property. But the people we standing beside for the parade was talking about them. So yes the EMH could go until 3 am

EMH at Epcot does not include the World Showcase.

You will be given a guest card at SOG and can use that for the EMH. EMH at night in Epcot does include select restraunts and the rides at Mexico and Norway in the WS.
