Following on from the GMFB thread:

Which rides are open during EMH? Knowing this will really help me on my first day, as we get there at lunchtime, and will allow me to skip rides knowing I can get straight on the next couple of mornings.

Is it all of fantasyland and discoveryland? Or just popular rides in them?

I can't believe that when we go the Magic Kingdom is open 8am-11pm (including EMH) but Studios are only 10am-6pm.

Most of Fantasyland is open

Teacups
Peter Pan
Pinochio or Snow White (they change it)
Dumbo
Carrousel
Castle (upstairs and down)

Then in Discoveryland:

Buzz
Orbitron
Space Mountain

:thumbsup2 Good Question Torsie!

Not as many rides are open as I thought! So Big Thunder and Pirates don't open until 10am?

How about Fastpasses? Are they open at 8am for all rides in the park? So for example, can I pick one up for Big Thunder at 8am to ride at 10am?
Also can you hold more than one fastpass but for different rides? I read in my Brits guide you can, but it is the 06-07 edition so a few years old!
Are the CM's really strict about returning in your time-slot or can you arrive an hour after your fastpass slot and still get on the ride?

Sorry about all the questions and thank you :worship:

No, Frontier and Adventureland are shut completely until 10 so you wouldn’t be able to get fastpasses either.

I think it’s a shame as I really love just wandering about and I would love to take some quiet photos. I am planning on waiting for the Frontierland rope drop at fort Comstock though – a very helpful tip that I picked up on these boards!!! Love the DIS!!!

I go where the wind takes me lol Usually means staying in Fantasyland.

If you wait at rope drop in Fantasyland next to Peter Pan ride you can be first into Adventureland and onto POC.

No you cant hold more than 1 FP at a time per person however you can collect another as soon as your time slot opens so eg you could have time slot for BTM for 11-1120 and so at 11 go to Indiana Jones collect another FP then go ride BTM within your time slot.
Yes the CMs are usually strict about the time slot

Maybe we should start a sneaky tips/timesaver/crowd avoider thread?

If there isn't one already that I've been missing?

Yes small world, you are full of knowledge! ::yes:: Thank you!

Maybe in retrospect I could go for a Fantasyland breakfast I'll be happy with one go each on SMM2, Peter Pan and Dumbo and maybe a couple on Buzz. All very do-able by 9am I imagine - I want to be ready for rope drop to frontierland though...

Thanks. Its the many trips we've made over the last 2 years that have built up the tips and the many hours spent on here as well picking up tips from others.
Have you read HildaMuriels latest trippie about quick route to BTM at rope drop.

Another tip I have is check it all out first. We followed a lot of people at rope drop into Frontierland heading for BTM but when they reached the land they all stopped to get bearings and find entrance whereas we knew exactly where to go so overtook them all

Yeah, that's what I meant about Fort Comstock, which I think is at the end of the Liberty Arcade. I'll be there daily at 9.45! :-)

I love BTM - so where do i head for the entrance? What's the fastest route? Been a few years since DLP so I can't quite remember, plus I get all the parks mixed up in my head when it's been a while!!

As you get into Frontierland turn right. The entrance is passed the exit and photo place.

While the CMs are strict about the time slot as far as not letting you on the ride early, they are NOT at all strict about using fast passes late. I often do this at WDW and I've been doing it yesterday and today in Paris, too. I get a fast pass and use it hours later in the afternoon when it is more convenient for me.

I'd just add Small World

As for Dumbo, there's a very long queue even in the EMH. So if you want to ride it, go there first mostly because they only let very few people on at the time...

I'd just add Small World

According to any leaflets Small World isnt open during EMH however occasionally they may open it especially if others that are normally open are closed for annual refurb./maintenance

Small World wasn't open till 10 the week we were there.....

Small World wasn't open on EMH when we were there either-Much to the dissapointment of a two year old in front of us as we walked past who promptly threw themself on the ground and started having a HUGE tantrum....

The Carousel wasn't open for us either.... :confused3
