I was reading about the EMH and saw something about Disney giving out tickets two hours before the park closes...does this mean that if you are a resort guest you need a ticket or are these extras that they give out to non-resort guests?

Thanks!
Jessica

EMHs are only for on-site guests...you have to be staying at a WDW resort in order to participate. Let's say it's an EMH in MK this particular night. MK closes to the general public at 8:00. At 6:00 you will be able to get wristbands for entry to the EMHs. You have to show your room key to get one. The disbursement areas are scattered around MK...we have gotten ours over by the Liberty Belle. You have the wristband put on, and you're good to go. Those without wristbands are not allowed on the attractions after 8:00. I suppose they can wander around the park, but that's it...no attractions/shows.

The last time I visited the Magic Kingdom (Sunday, March 19, 2006, an Extra Magic evening day), the CMs did NOT begin checking wrist bands until about two hours into the extra hours. I don't know if this normal, or if I just happened to enter attractions where the CMs were not paying attention.

Enjoy.

2 weeks ago when we were there, espically in MK, we saw non disney resort guests turned away from rides time and time again. One couple infront of us at Peter Pan's Flight didn't speak english and the CM stopped them entering the line and tried several times to explain so they finally asked me to hold out my arm and show my band to them to help try to explain. They were not allowed to enter to ride, but unfortunately I'm not sure if they ever understood why or not.

I had almost the exact same experience at AK....we were in line at Triceretop Spin behind a family of 3 or 4. They were first in the line. Well, 6:00 came, the park closed. It was about 6:02 when the CM opened the gate for the next group of riders, asked to see this family's wristbands. They had none, and didn't seem to understand what the issue was. CM tried explaining about EMH's being for WDW resort guests only. He asked me to show this family my wristband. Their response? "Oh, well, we leave tomorrow and have to do this ride. We are not staying at WDW, it is too expensive. We can't come back tomorrow because we have to go to the airport, so we have to ride this tonight!" The CM very politely turned them away, with many apologies.

I can't say if the different CMs have actually been checking wristbands since everyone in my group always just holds their arm up for the CM to see as we pass by.
