Ok, we are going to be there the last week of August into Labor Day weekend. The UG says to avoid MK on Sunday. Sunday has EMH PM on August 27.

Should I avoid MK this day, or should it be ok?? We plan on getting there at opening, doing what we can. Leaving either before or after lunch and swimming, and going back after dinner.

Will it be nuts that night?

Should I do TGM?? Others have said that he has different days to avoid the parks.

Thanks!!

I would recommend making plans that avoided the Magic Kingdom altogether on that particular day. Locals often visit the MK on Sundays, and you can also bet that the park will be very crowded during the late evening hours.

Enjoy.

Ok, what about Saturday, the day before?

Honestly, I didn't notice that much of a difference crowd wise when it was EMH...seemed like the same amount of guest that wer ethere during the regular house...well, at MK anyway...seemed like very few at AK and 5 times as many at EPCOT.

How about the crowds on a Sunday at the end of August in MK?

While Sundays tend to be busier, keep in mind that the end of August is also value season and so crowds won't be the same as they are say during June or July. I personally enjoy evening EMH...and as the night goes on, less and less people are there. Yeah locals may go to MK on a Sunday, but most locals also work the following day so they're not likely to be hanging out at MK until midnight.

And locals won't be at EMH unless they get a room at a WDW resort. We planned to avoid EMH's on our trip the last week in June because of the crowds (and they were HUGE), but one day it started raining about 3:00 and did not stop until 8 or 9. We figured if there was a day to give an evening EMH a try, that was it. We had a blast. I talk about it on Day 3 of my trip report:

Have fun ~

We're arriving late on the 26th and we plan on doing EMH at MK. It'll be our first park visit of our trip so we plan on making the most of it. Start early, break midday, dinner at Chef Mickey's and back to MK. I keep hearing that crowds are considerably smaller by that week in August so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
