EMH-how does it work?

I am not up to date on how this works and I also understand that Disney offers after park hours for resort guests. How does this work? If MK offers the EMH on a Monday, does this same park also offer the extra evening hours too and for how many hours? Is there a dependable schedule for the parks or do they change all the time? Thank you for your help for this will help in my planning.

Usually the park with EMH in the evening is a different park from the park with EMH in the morning. The morning EMH is one hour. Usually the evening EMH is three hours but it could be different.

I believe that there is a schedule but a schedule that is changed during peak periods. If there is no schedule, it is more difficult for day guests to sneak past a turnstile monitor who is not checking room keys carefully.

There's a schedule on which park gets morning EMH or evening EMH. If you check out the DIS home you can see which park gets the EMH. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm#hm-parkhours-quicklink

If it's morning EMH, then the park opens one hour before normal opening time. So if MK has morning EMH and the published open time is 8:00am, then the park will open at 7am for resort guests.
You will need to show your resort ID and then they will let you in.

For evening EMH, the park stays open up to 3 hours after normal closing time. If MK closes at 7pm, then resort guests have until 10pm.
Evening EMH requires you to have a wristband that you can pick up at various stations around the park starting 2 hours before park closing time all the way up to EMH closing time. You will need to show your resort ID as well.
