EMH hours and staying off-site, how exactly does that work?

If we are staying off-site but going to the parks (AP holders) when they have late extra magic hours, how does that work? I was under the impression that EMH were ONLY for resort guests but how do they get people out of the park? If seems like that would be really hard to do because, unlike the special ticketed event, you aren't wearing a special bracelet or anything. If you aren't using any FPs then you really aren't even scanning your MB for them to see that you aren't at their resort. So can we partake in late EMH hours or not? I mentioned that we are AP holders because I don't know if that is a perk, I don't think it is but just in case..

You can be in the park during EMH but they scan magic bands so only those with a current onsite stay can ride anything.

I'm an AP holder. You won't be able to ride any attractions during that time. When we stayed onsite last and did EMH, our mb was scanned before riding. Many shops and restaurants are closed during EMH.

I believe they scan magic bands at ride entrances. No, an AP will not get you in. I think off site guests can still shop on Main Street during evening EMH but not positive in that.

We never do morning EMH but have done evening EMH many times at MK - they check MBs to get onto rides but anyone is welcome to continue shopping in the Emporium or get ice cream across the street, etc etc etc -- I've never seen any CMs guide anyone toward the MK exits during EMH (when there wasn't a special event like MNSSHP, of course).

Do you already have your rooms reserved. If not, there are a few hotels at Disney Springs Area that give you the EMH with your reservation. I think I still have the link if it is still valid. As long as you go by December 31, 18

Usually during emh you enter through the FP line. Scanning your band turns green if you're on site. If they don't use the FP line then a CM will manually scan your bands or tickets. Offsite guests don't have to leave but they can't ride anything.

For early emh only on site guests can scan to get into the park
