I was reading a thread and someone was talking about EMH and showing there roon key to get armband etc.? I'm having trouble remembering something! The last 2 years we stayed at FW in our popup so of coarse we had no room key....We went to EMH, I'm pretty sure, I know we were at rope drop every morning but we haven't done the evening hours because the little one can't hang that long so just morning hours. So what do you show them to get in or to stay at night for the EMH if you don;t have a key? I'm drawing a blank....we are resort guests so how did this work?

Well, I'm fairly certain that your Key to the World Card would suffice. I honestly can't remember if we had anything else, but we definitely took part in EMH this past September and May when we were there. Really though, I'm not sure how they tell who is supposed to be there and who isn't. Regardless, I wouldn't worry about it, as a guest at Fort Wilderness you do qualify for admission during EMH.

well we don't or didn't have a key to the world card because I get our tickets from undercover tourist. Did they still give me a card just because we are staying on site? I don't remember?:confused3

We got room keys when we stayed a month or so ago.. And we did have to show them for the extra magic hours at night. Also the room keys let us in the comfort stations at night.

You do get a "room key", that's also how you open the gate to drive back into the FORT and you can use it as a charge card if you set it up that way on check in.

I don't get it - is it an actual key or something they just call a key? If it's a key, what exactly will it open at your campsite - the sewer hookup? I mean, I have a key for my trailer, but will that one work to get me into EMH? I'm confused. I think I may need a Kungaloosh, but I'm out of orange juice. Hey, will there be any orange juice in Florida? I heard something like 1/3 of the orange crop was destroyed by the cold weather. It's cold in PA tonight and the wind is really blowing. If you are a rock, does the wind chill make you feel colder or does that just work on warm blooded creatures? What were we talking about, anyway? Oh yeah - SO WHO LIKES BEER?

Last time I was down, mine opened a room with a bunch of things that looked like chemical dispensers. I took a picture. Let me see if I can find it. Oh, here it is:

I think I remember those dispensers. If you have someone pull the handle something magical comes out. On a hot day it is a wonderful thing. :worship: Those keys are wonderful.

The blue "cards" you get upon check in are your "key to the world cards"...

It'll have your name, dates of your stay, "account number" if you allow for charging priveledges, and if you have the dining plan it'll show how many people are on it. You will get one for every person on the reservation except infants under 2.

Staying at the fort, you normally don't need them for much. Just getting in and out of the security gate (if you don't use the side with the actual guard), and using the comfort stations from 12am-6am.

A few years ago, they used to send resort guests to select locations throughout the park to get a wristband for EMH nights. They stopped handing out the wristbands, so now you just show your KTTW card at the entrance to every attraction. In the morning time, you would just show your KTTW card at the turnstiles prior to entering.

here's a pic of it

As you notice the numbers below the name represent the resort your staying at, so that way it unlocks the comfort stations and gate. The ID# at the bottom is for charging priveledges, it'll say "not for charging" if you elect to not have this.

HEY !! How come I didnt get little white pieces of paper on my card key when we went to Disney !!
It aint fair I tell ya, just aint fair !!

So you use the blue card to break into locked doors by wedging them between the door and the jam and jimmying the lock! I get it now. I just used the thing to put under the uneven leg on the dinette table in the trailer before!

Does anyone know if your reservation on your key card ends on Sunday, if you would be eligible for the evening Extended hours on that Sunday?

I'm pretty sure you are good for the whole day of check out.

Do any of you know how many months in advance Disney releases the Extra Magic Hours schedule? We're going Dec. 3, 2010 and want to plan out our days based on EMH but don't know whey the hours are released.

Thanks!

Nevermind folks, I apologize; I found the answer!!

Well, that sucks!! They are released 180 days in advance. We were hoping to have our schedule all set up BEFORE the ADR window. Now, I don't know what we're gonna do; guess we'll just have to work around it.

Even if you were within the 180 window, just to warn you, they add to the EMH all the time. I planned our Dec 09 trip in Oct 09, and I watched the EMH change 3 times during my planning.
Disney. Anyone would think they owned the place.

Yup - no problem. :thumbsup2

I'll second that. Ours changed a few times in the weeks before our trip in November.

Generally that time of year, expect each park to have 2 emh nights, but DAK usually only stays one night during the winter.

So Tuesday/thursday is Epcot, Friday/sunday is MK, wesnesday is dak, Monday/Saturday is Studios.

Of course, since you're coming during the holidays, I'd suggest planning more around party nights than EMH nights.

We were there the first 2-3 weeks of Dec in '08 and '07 and each park only had one EMH night each during the week. Schedule was the same both years...

Sun - HS
Mon - MK
Weds - AK
Fri - EP
