EMH evening hours

How do they keep track of who should be in the park for EMH evening and who shouldn't? I know you have to have a wristband to stay late but if you're walking around the park and you don't have one on do they ask you to leave?

Just wondering since I was asked by a friend and wasn't sure.

They do not ask anyone to leave the park. Only guests with the wristbands can go on the rides and attractions. The Cast Members do a thorough job at each ride/attraction to make sure only people with wristbands can enter. All others are waived off the line.
Everyone is free to walk around, shop, or eat until the EMH closing.

I thought I read on another thread that non-wristband people weren't allowed to shop or eat, either - no purchases of any kind.

Has anyone been there, and seen this happen?

When and where do you get the wristbands if you've been in the park during the day?

Wristbands are distributed starting two hours before the EMH starts. There are three or so places in each park where you can obtain them. I believe if you go on allearsnet.com you can find the locations. The ones nearest the park entrance will usually have more people in line than the others.

I really doubt Disney would discourage anyone from spending money in the EMH park even though they were not Disney resort guests. The only wristband rule is that you must have one to get on any ride or attraction once the evening EMH starts. Non Disney resort guests can stay and do whatever they please, but cannot ride anything.

When I was there in March, I saw people walking around during EMH w/o wristbands. They weren't asked to leave, but they couldn't do any of the attractions. I doubt they would stop anyone from shopping or eating!

When I was there in May, they were pretty careful about checking the wristbands before entering any rides.

I was planning on doing EMH at MK on 8/31 However, I have an ADR for Chef Mickey at 7:00pm MK closes at 9:00pm So when do I have to get the wristband? I'm a little worried that I'm not going to be able to get one.
