My 4 yr old says he wants to do Tower of Terror on this trip, but I really think he is going to chicken out. My DH doesn't want to do TOT or RNRC - gets motion sickness, so my plan is going to be to do EMH with my daughter and get Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster out of the way. If my little one wants to do TOT, fine - but in the event he doesn't - is there anything he and my DH can go do for that hour instead of just sitting there waiting on us? Are there any characters out that early? DH isn't going to be able to do Star Tours either - so that just leaves the Muppet Show as far as the attractions that are open. They could go see that, but it's certainly not going to take up an hour. Any other suggestions?

For the last two trips we did EMH at MGM. I wait with our children while my husband goes on both ToT and RNRC (twice). The wait goes rather fast and I enjoy spending the slow time with my children. I would rather he gets the rides in right of way to get them out of the way.

We're going in a couple of weeks with our kids who don't like the scary rides. We are going to do the MGM EMH one morning. We're planning on doing the Muppet Show right at the beginning and then taking the rest of the hour to enjoy a leisurely stroll down a couple of the streets - (we always seem in such a rush when we first hit a park in the morning we don't let ourselves look in the shops or any of the nice details along the streets)- and then place ourselves ready to get in to the 1st show of the Little Mermaid (and then Great Movie Ride, then Millionaire and then lunch at Sci Fi!). Hope you have fun!

There are other things he can do. But in Feb I was able to go on TOT & RRC 3 times each all before the park opend. I when to the park myself and took the boat back to BCV to go to the other parks with the family this worked out great . The kids all had breakfast with mom and were waiting to go.

There is usually some characters at the Sorcerer's hat right when the park opens to help divert some people from going to Coaster/Tower. Aside from that, I'd recommend Muppets or Great Movie Ride. Alternatively, they can wait with you online up to the point where you'd get on the ride and then they can take the chicken exit to the gift shop and wait for you. They'll end up waiting a mere few minutes before you exit.

I was just looking at Steve Soares' site, and right now, they are showing the Toy Story characters at "The Muppet's Gate" at 8:30 during EMH. This would be right up his alley. Now, where exactly is the "Muppet's Gate?" I'm assuming it's close to Muppet Vision - like maybe around the fountain? ?

Honestly, when our daughter was younger (and even now, at age 8), EMH at MGM seemed like a waste of time. If you're not going to do RnR, Star Tours, and only maybe doing Tower of Terror, then you definitely don't "need" EMH to give MGM a thorough going-over. Last time we did EMH there, we rode Star Tours twice, saw Muppets, then were completely bored for the rest of the hour. Hardly anything in the park was open, we saw no characters, it was a complete waste of time. My suggestion would be to go to MGM on the day after EMH- you'll get everything done that you want and you can sleep in a little bit. Plus, the park won't be as crowded for all the non-EMH stuff that your child will want to do once the park opens.
