We are headed to WDW in July. According to Kenny the Pirate's calendar, AK is likely to have morning EMH the day we will be going to it (a Saturday). We will be onsite, but because that is our checkout and move to Universal day (afternoon, after AK), I doubt we will be there at 8:00 am. We will be leaving mid-afternoon.

We only plan to do FOP if I get a fast pass, not planning to try to standby it. We don't care about the other Pandora ride.

Our main rides are Safari, EE, FOTLK, maybe Kali. Adults might try Dinosaur while kids at Boneyard, but not very important.

I'm wondering how much it being an EMH morning will impact the non-Pandora parts of the park if we get there around regular opening. Yes, I can FP some of the above, but kids like multiple rides on EE (not sure if they'll do single rider) which we were able to do in the morning two years ago.

I personally can not recommend ever going to an AM EMH that you can't be there for the start of. That's why we don't plan an EMH Park for move out dates, or move-in dates for that matter.

Everyone who rode Pandora rides for the first hour will be flooding out to the rest of the park. Those that don't do Pandora rides will have filled the queue lines in the rest park for when you arrive.

That is our only possible day to go, so we can't change it. Short WDW visit added on to Universal trip.

Good to know to plan on only riding what we can Fast Pass.
Thanks!

FP FoP, Safari, and Kali.

You don't need a FP for Lion King and you could do standby or single rider for EE

I would arrive at the beginning of EMH if you can. You could ride several rides without fastpass then start FP's after 9:00.

I am also moving to universal hotel on my AK day. I'm planning to check out at 6.30am, ask the hotel (Dolphin) to hold our luggage, rope drop the EMH at AK, and then check into the Universal hotel at 10pm.

I can't think why this won't work. Can anyone else?

Thanks in advance

When are you going? AK had EMH added in May almost every day. We are likely not able to make it until the middle of EMH. I looked on Mon several times to see what the non-Pandora rides looked like and they were fine right before 9. They were 5-15 min waits with Safari bring the longest. So I'd you're going in May I wouldn't worry. If you can get there a little before park open you should be able to do multiple EE rides and I'd FP Safari. If you're going at a busier time YMMV but I would watch some EMH wait times before making a decision. Is that's what works best in your schedule, I would go with it. If you look at historical crowd levels on EMH days, sometimes they are the busiest park of the day and sometimes they are not so I don't think it's worth trying to rearrange a schedule that works for you just to avoid them.
