emh and fantasmic

Ok, I really need some help. I am starting to make my itinerary, and was wondering about emh and how it effects fantasmic. Is there two showings? Is it extremely crowded? The night we are arriving there is an emh at MGM Studios. Since Fantasmic is one of our favorite shows my ds wants to go our first night at wdw. Since we will be later getting to the park that day. The smh hours sound great, I am just so worried we will be overwhelmed with crowds. Any thoughts. Should we do the fantasmic dinner package. Will the crowds be too much? I am so lost at what to do!

You should check the Disney schedule to see if there are two showings. I would think the park would be busier that day and it may impact Fantasmic. Good luck! I love that show

Just arrived home today and spent Sunday at MGM, which was a EMH night. Fantasmic had two performances, 9pm and 10:30pm. We opted for a FDP at H & V since we'd never done either before and this way we ate (had to anyway) and got a seat for the show...9pm. We showed up at the "secret" gate at 8:25pm as instructed and after that long walk behind the scenes we were seated for Fantasmic and only had to wait about 20 minutes. I would not have been a happy camper waiting an hour for it as many have done before. When we exited the theater, we left via the Sunset Blvd. one which takes you right past the line for those waiting on the 10:30pm performance. There was quite a line already, so I imagine the late performance for EMH gets pretty full also. Perhaps others who went to one of the late performances can add some comments to help you out.
