How are the late night at the parks. Is the park that is open late overly crowded? I was hoping to take advantage of the 3 extra hours at Animal Kingdom, maybe since the other parks are still open during that time it will not be so crowded. Any thoughts on the late nights for resort guests? Thanks! :flower1:

I've been wondering about that as well. I've only read a couple of reports, one or two saying how horribly crowded it was, and one or two saying that it wasn't crowded at all, LOL. I'm surprised there haven't been more DISers reporting back to us! :D

We were there last week and the parks were open for 3 hours after official closing. Last week this meant 7-10 for the MK, 5-8 for AK and 9-12 for Epcot. (Sorry, I don't know about MGM. We had an Illuminations Cruise that night.) There wasn't much open at AK. It's Tough to be a Bug, Dinosaur, the kiddie rides in Dinoland and a few shows. It wasn't crowded at all. Almost all of the MK was open. I knoe the tree house and the Jungle Cruise were closed. More crowded here but not too bad. We rode all the biggies and the only line we ran into was for Peter Pan. Epcot was more crowded than AK, less than MK.

Hope this helps,

Jennifer

We were at MK on 1/5 when they were open from 7-10. Space Mountain had a less than 10 minute wait and Buzz was the same. We hit those first and then went to POTC where we waited 30 minutes (ridiculous handling of FP by the CM). I heard several people at that point say the lines were worse that night than during the day and I would agree with them.

I really didn't like the "select resorts" comment in regards to the wristband as it was obvious it was basically EVERYONE there that day that stayed. In all honesty, I was not impressed by the extra 3 hours and we left before 9 due to the longer lines

Found the flyer.

Funny, we were ther 1/5 too and rode alone in our boat in POC.

I loved the extra late hours!! We were there jan 5-11 and it was great. Not crowded at all, no lines except at space mtn right after the fireworks, seems everyone rushed over there, but during the fireworks we walked right on. We ended up being the one of the last ones to leave MK on their late night and it was so cool to walk through adventureland and be the only ones there. Felt like our own private park. I am so glad that this was added. We're not early birds and never made it to any of the early openings, but the late nights were great.

When did Pirates get FP cause they didn't have them in Dec

Im a little lost on the waits you said 10 min for SM and BUZZ but you said you left cause the lines where to long? To me those are very short lines.

The waits for Buzz/Space Mountain were immediately after fireworks (guess everyone didn't run there first for us).

I just realized I said POTC when I meant Peter Pan! The "rode alone in the boat comment" helped because I was thinking "well only 2 people fit in a boat" - sorry about that. So that probably explains the FP remark too - again, sorry for the confusion.

I know by the time we left Peter Pan all of the lines were looking very long and there were people everywhere - it really didn't feel like it was only for resort guests and the crowds seemed far worse than the day

The line for Peter Pan was awful that night. Stayed that way all night too. Maybe it was just the Fantasyland stuff? We only wanted to ride that and see Mickey's Philharmagic (which is really great by the way). We started EMH in Frontierland and didn't have problems with anything except Peter Pan.
