I've been reading this board for tips for my family's Sept. Trip to WDW. This is my first post. I've been able to get great info.

I have noticed several suggestions to avoid parks with EMH due to the crowds. I was wondering if this would still be the case for the week of Sept 16-23?

Also, many websites list wait times for rides and other attractions. I have been using the low end of these projections for planning purposes for this time of year. Does that seem reasonable to everybody?

pick a strategy and go with it. you will go nuts if you try to listen to everybody. i never avoid am emh, and often hit pm emh as an afterthought after the park we are at closes. it is sort of a bonus for us. good luck whatever you end up doing.

WELCOME to the DISboards!!

Many of us go to Morning EMH (and sometimes HOP).
Some of us like the evening EMH at certain parks.
Some of us avoid EMH parks.

Because NOBODY can tell you what WILL happen with ATTENDANCE on any given date, any more than they can predict the WEATHER (which WILL affect the attendance much more than EMH.)

EMH is FREE.
I go.
If I need to, I can always go elsewhere.

Welcome to the Dis!

As long as you have a Park HOPPER ticket your good to go! If you get to the EMH and it is too busy then just hop over to another park. If I didn't have the hopper option on my ticket I would not chance the crowds and would use the day after stratigy. :goodvibes

Welcome to the dis!
I really agree with this post. Give it a shot-this is becoming my motto today
Whatever happens you'll have fun!

I'm going to try 3 nighttime EMH's while there in late August. It won't be as hot. if it is crowded, we'll stick to less popular attractions and just enjoy the atmosphere of the park.

Thanks for the input. It's been years (early 1980's) since I've been there. Looking forward to it. Don't want to plan this thing too much but also don't want to be clueless.

I had a bad experience with a PM EMH but that was because it was Spring Break the busiest time of the yr and last Aug we never had a chance so this Aug I will try it at the MK and maybe EP its late Aug so hopefully it wont be crowded at all..

We did evening EMH last August and enjoyed it (we're night owls, we enjoy anything at night).

At MK, the crowds at the beginning seemed pretty busy, though not as busy as it is during the day. The longest wait time we saw was for Space Mountain which had a 30 minute waits. Everything else was 10 minutes or less. As the night went on, more and more people were leaving and crowds were like how they were with e-ride night. There wasn't a ride with a wait anymore...everything was walk on. we enjoyed it there.

Epcot EMH was pretty similar...busy at first, but pretty much empty by the end of EMH. Soarin' was the only ride with a line...a wait of 45 minutes. By the end of the night, the wait was maybe 10 minutes. There was no wait for Mission Space and Test Track was closed for the night due to a storm.

MGM was the only evening EMH we did not stick around for. It was VERY busy and *every* line had a wait of almost an hour or more. After about half an hour, we left. I'm sure crowds thinned out as the night went on, but we never saw wait times being lowered, so we didn't want to wait two hours just to finally get on one ride.

Now as it was pointed out, no one can predict crowds. But it seems to be a pretty fair thing to say that it's always busier right at first, but crowds do thin as it gets later.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like the wait times are not that bad.

We are planing on nighttime EMH as adult time for DW & I ( MIL will look after DD )

Whoops wanted to correct my information...
We did evening EMH last August...not last September. We were there August 3-8 last year. Sorry about the misinfo...I'll edit my post.

Im glad to see it was early Aug..I started to worry until I read that we are going late Aug so hopefully EMH will be alot less crowded
