EMH and Changing Hotels Mid-Week

We are switching hotels mid-way into our week (DLH didn't have the type of room we wanted available for the full week). For the EMH, I understand that you're supposed to be actually staying on property that specific day, but do they actually confirm that? I assume DLH will let us keep our room keys as a souvenir. Could we show those and get away with EMH? I get that this is against the rules, but with two very small kids I'll do what I can to beat crowds!!

I doubt they’ll let you keep your room keys and if they did just let people keep room keys, they’re going to verify that you are staying on site. If you have a 3 day or longer ticket bought in advance, you can use EMH at Disneyland once (not California Adventure).

Fair enough! Looking at our plan I don't think we'd be able to make use of it anyways with trying to catch fireworks / Fantasmic and not having hopper passes. Mostly just curious!

They print the dates of your stay on the room keys and check them for EMH so no you won’t be able to cheat the system and “beat the crowds”

Dates are printed on room keys for that very reason.

Day of arrival in you check in early enough to get your keys and day of departure are both valid for EMH.
