our first mk day is emh 8am. our little one is up at 630 so she will be good to go, should I get the rest of my crew going for this? We have never used EMH in the am before.

If you plan on riding a lot of rides, it is so worth it. You can ride most of the rides is Fantasyland before the park even opens for everyone else.

I think I need to get my crew moving for this! I would just go with DD and let the group meet up but it is her first time in the Mk since she was 12 months old, I know everyone will want to be with her.

Be sure to check out the list of rides open during the morning EMH at MK before you decide. When we tried it one year, we were disappointed to find that not all MK rides are open during EMH. Most of the ones we wanted to ride the most (Splash, BTMRR, HM, Pirates) were not open during the morning EMH. If I remember correctly, only the rides in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland were open that early. We were very frustrated, because we assumed that all of the rides would be open! Wished we hadn't gotten up extra early; it ended up being a waste of time for us.

But that was just us - it's worth a little extra research to find out what will be open, so you can make an informed decision. If your group is mainly focused on Fantasyland and Tomorrowland rides, then it's a good strategy!

We are able to do many things in that hour, tomorrow land and fantasy land are open during the hour and mainstreet where talking Mickey meets. I think it is worth for sure at MK

We are tommorowland and fantasyland crowd. Where can I find the list of what will be open om EMH? Thanks

that sounds good! It will be our first morning and I would love to get on alot at least once right off the bat, takes the self imposed pressure off me! lol

We went 2 years ago, and on our EMH day we rode PP, met Ariel at her grotto, rode Under the Sea, and Winnie the Pooh. We were in line to meet Merida by 9:10, so we made it into her first meet of the day (just barely, we were at the end of the line). Then we rode Barnstormer, Dumbo, and Tea Party before our 11 am lunch at Be Our Guest. So that was 6 rides and 2 character meets in under 3 hours. Our times involved putting 2 kids in/out of strollers and parking the strollers at each ride. We had a FP for SDMT later, so we didn't want to waste the EMH in that line.

Particularly in the summer, it's nice to have an extra hour before the heat becomes unbearable.

The only thing I would keep in mind is if you were up late the night before, or if you are planning on staying up late that day. Even with a resort break midday from 1-5, we had a really hard time staying awake for the 10 pm fireworks after attending EMH.

I would go early if possible. We always get a lot done in that early morning hour with our little one. Then she is ready to crash/take a nap by early afternoon which is when we find it considerably more crowded anyway!

I feel the exact same as ZoZo as we mistakenly assumed Frontierland would be open and would be able to ride our favorites. As a result we probably won't do morning EMH at MK again, but we are all adults. If I was there with a child (as the OP is) then I would absolutely do it again with short early morning waits (or walk-ons) for Seven Dwarfs, Peter Pan, Pooh, Little Mermaid... Take advantage of it and enjoy OP!

we usually do pre park opening BOG so its definitely worth it for us. If its available in August we will be canceling our BOG ADR in favor of this.

MK morning EMH are totally worth it. We get our butts up early, tour until we are tired or it's too crowded (usually around lunch) and then head back for a nap/break/swim.

The break in the afternoon makes an early morning tolerable!

Absolutely! I don't worry so much about morning EMH at other parks, but MK is a must.

Ditto... we go annually at Easter time (not Easter Day) and EMH at MK is a must. We can get many rides in before the park opens up for everyone and even then it does not start feeling crowded until around lunch time.

If your trip plan is set and limited and the only day you planning on visiting MK has EMH then yes take advantage of it. But if you have length of stay, flexibility as to which park on a given day, and already planning more than one day at MK, another option is to avoid the pain of trying to get to a 8am EMH (and your party needs to be there for RD, even 15-30 minutes later will greatly reduce the advantage), visit another park on that day and then use RD at MK on another day for regular 9am opening. All depends on ability and willingness of all members of your party to do 8am EMH - and not just say that now but actually do so on the actual day. Personally we were always able to get our kids up in time for 9am RD, not so early as to reasonably make 8am RD.

I say YES, I LOVE am emh at MK, even with just 2 lands open, that's all you need, have a more relaxing pace, and you can cover basically all the rides in Fantasyland & Tomorrowland in that area (probably not Mine Train, but hey) Then at 9, we usually would jump in line for fairytale hall or merida, or head over to Frontierland!
