EMH a.m. at MGM and Characters

Sorry if this has been asked already but I'm trying to get our plans for our upcoming trip and was wondering about characters at EMH at MGM. It is just my mom and my two children this time for a quick trip so we won't have to do TOT or RNRC since Daddy isn't there. But we do LOVE characters especially my 2yr old, so are they out and about that early in the morning or would it be better to wait until the park opens? The only ride we are interested in doing for EMH is Muppets and then getting in line for Voyage and Playhouse Disney when the park opens...meeting characters are the agenda for the day. Please let me know what you have seen. Thanks so much.

I haven't really seen any charcters out for emh in the morning. That may have changed ... I would still do emh if I were you that way you can see what attractions you would like and try to avoid some of the crowds and heat before the park opens. Then you will have the rest of the time to see the characters. The character greatings are usually noted on the guide maps and any cm can tell where they will be also. There are usually alot of characters under the big hat , you can meet buzz and woody , and sorceror mickey is in the sound stage!!
