My family has been to both, and unlike popular opinion, we think Emeril's is much better than Tchoup-Chop. When we ate at Emeril's, we saw many people with nice short outfits. At Tchoup-Chop, people seemed to dress nicer, but there still was quite a few people in "nice" shorts outfits. IMO, the people who were all dressed up, (i.e. shirt w/tie and dress pants, women in dresses or pant suits), were in the minority and really seemed overdressed. However, a "casual" dress would be great! I wore capris to both, and my DH, and son both wore khakis w/ button down collars. Both complained that I made them get too dressed up for Emeril's, but felt appropriately dressed for Tchoup-Chop. I felt very comfortable in my capris at both, but I definitely was not underdressed. Again IMO, when eating at Emeril's in New Orleans, I would dress for a nice evening out. These 2 restaurants are at a theme park and people tend to dress more casually in this environment. I don't think Emeril minds, because he serves the same great food to all.
I use this for an example: If I were going to a French restaurant in Tampa, my family would never show up in capris, shorts or even khakis. However, we have eaten at Les Chef de France in Epcot in our "nice" shorts outfits many times.
Hope this helps!
