Have any of you recieved a different car class then full size on the Emerald Reserve Aisle? Thanks in advance for your responses.

I did see a convertible one time. There was 4 of us so it was too small. As a matter of fact, that was the only car on the full size. They let us take an Aztec from the Emerald Aisle (after asking if we were EC members). If you are an Emerald Club member, if you see a larger car on the EA, I would ask if you can take it, I bet they would allow it. You actually are paying more for the full size than someone who booked intermediate with EA.

Thanks for the info DebbieB. We rented a convertible once, it was only a little bit more than what we reserved so I couldn't resist. In retrospect it probably wasn't a good idea since you barely see our two kids in the back seat because they were kinda buried with our luggage. Not much room in those Sebrings trunks plus we don't know how to pack lightly. I don't think I'll ever hear the last of that one. but it was fun driving the covertible around WDW.

Has anyone been to the National at Orlando airport ...were there a lot of full size and above type cars on the EA?

I would love to book a full size and be able to get a larger car :)

Went the first week of July. Emerald Aisle was filled with brand new mini vans. We got a Toyota Siena with 6 miles on it.

Can I asked what you originally booked?

For the Emerald Aisle, you have to book intermediate. Sometimes there are larger cars, sometimes not. See this running thread of reports.

We would not be happy with an intermediate sized car, so we always book Emerald Reserve, reserving the class we would be happy to have. If you use enough different codes and coupons, and, you are willing to go back and check every now and again, you can pretty much rent the for the same price as you would an intermediate on EA.

My experience over the years has been less and less full sized on EA, mostly the intermediates. I see some, sometimes, but not nearly as much and as often as years past. Just my observation.

National has two types of service - Emerald Aisle and Emerald Reserve.

Aisle services allows Emerald club members to select any car in the area labeled Emerald Aisle. You must have an Emerald Aisle reservation and you would be paying for intermediate.

Reserve service means you have a specific class (compact, full, SUV, etc.) rented and you can pick any vehicle in that specific section only.
