Do they still have the emerald isle where you go pick from several different intermediate cars at MCO?

Do they have anything bigger on it when available, like they used to?

Why can't I find the EA option on the web page when I go to the Emerald Club page? :confused3

Hope someone can help. Looking for a good deal in June. Any suggestions?

Is National still usually the best deal at MCO?

Thanks, YO

MCO still has different cars in the intermediate level of Emerald Aisle. We got a minivan for our Oct trip. For more recent selections on EA do a search for the "what's on the EA" thread.
When you book online, the way to get EA service is to sign in like you are doing and request an intermediate sized car or higher for your reservation. When you receive your confirmation email, it will state that you have EA level service.
To try to get better rates go to Mousesavers.com and try using the various contract codes. Just keep on checking rates on National, right up to your trip because you may get a better deal.

So do I just reserve an intermediate level car and that will automatically put me in the emerald isle, or will it put me in just the intermediate isle of cars?
Last time I chose emerald isle not a car size. I just can't seem to find that button to choose.
Thanks, YO

If you pick the intermediate car you will get to pick any car on the Emerald Aisle- but be aware that you may only get an intermediate car on the EA. It is luck of the draw when EA has other cars than intermediate- SUVs, minivans, full-sized cars.
If it is important for you to have at the minimum a full sized car or larger, then select the full size car option. You would pick from the full size section at National which is separately marked in the garage from the EA. (It would be noted as Emerald Reserve-full size on your reservation.)
From your post, it sounds like your previous rental was from the EA (intermediate option), not Emerald Reserve.

I'm confused. I ordered the Chevy Equinox(sp?) SUV mid size. Is that considered intermediate? Or what level is it considered, and how did you know that? I cant seem to figure it out. Thanks...

You'd go to the mid-size SUV aisle. The reservation would be Emerald Reserve (not Emerald Aisle).

I was finally able to find the EA thread, that helped with what has been around lately. I just thought last time I had to pick EA specifically not just an intermediate car and be a member of the EC to get the benefit of EA. So I'm just lost on finding that part of the reservation process. I'll call and find out for sure at lunch today. Thanks for your help.

Yes, the new website is confusing. You don't see that you've picked Emerald Aisle service as easily as you used to be able to. But, by being logged in to Emerald Club and booking an Intermediate that way, you will get Emearld Aisle service. I believe it will say this on your email confirmation as well.

Ok.....so the bottom line is that if you make your reservation for Emerald Aisle, and book at least an Intermediate car, you can still select anything (Intermediate and up) from the EA at MCO....right?? It's been a couple years since we've used National, so I want to be sure I remember how it works!! :thumbsup2

If you want "Emearld Aisle" service, then you must book an Intermediate. That will be all you are guaranteed but hopefully, you might be surprised as to what is on the EA but don't be surprised if it's only Intermediates.

Then if you book ANY other size then that is the aisle you go to and the service is called "Emerald Reserve". So if you book a Full size, you go to the Full size aisle, Compact, go to the Compact aisle etc...

Emerald Reserve: you go to the aisle of what size you booked and that is all you are guaranteed to find.

Emerald Aisle: means you booked an Intermediate and you may get something better if it's on the Emearld Aisle but the Intermediate is all that is guaranteed.

thank you. I am only going to get a mid suv.. Cool, I was worried I would get there and not get what I wanted.

beattyfamily,
Thanks for the clairification, I'll work on my reservation knowing that now.
Last time in '04 we ended up with a red Saturn Vue, and had a choice of several others, trailblazers (all white ones), pt's and just missed an equinox (the one tiger does the commercial for), I know it's luck of the draw, but that's part of the adventure of vacation, the hunt for something fun and special. :woohoo:

Thanks again, YO

I jst became a member of the Emerald Club...any tips as to what codes work best when you're a member?
