Emerald Island

We will be checking into a TH at this resort in December. We have never stayed here before but have been to Windsor Palms and Windsor Hills. It looks like it is near to WP - can anyone tell me anything about the resort?

We've stayed there three times and will be back there in 2 weeks. The entrance is beautiful and there is more landscaping than WH. Just show the guard your paperwork and he will tell you to go to the clubhouse which is right by the gate to get your permanent parking pass. The clubhouse and pool area aren't as big as WH probably more like WP. There's a tiki bar beside the pool and the townhouse section is to the right of the pool. ( There's also a townhouse section before you get to the manned gate.) There's a wooded area across from the townhouses that you can stroll through. There are a few planned activities at the clubhouse and they usually give you this info when you get your parking pass.

There are also townhomes in what is known as West End, near the tennis courts. There is a separate pool/spa there.

The management try to put on programs for the guests such as karaoke pool side or face painting for the kids. Check in at the clubhouse to see what is going on during your stay.

We stayed in Emerald Island in 2011 and really enjoyed it. The location is great and the resort was nicely kept. We did not use any of the resort amenities - just our private pool.

we have stayed at emerald island 6 times-another stay booked for next year!

it's a great location,the pool and hot tub are lovely-not participated in any of the other activities-but like pp said-you are given a list from the club house.

there are town houses and villas with pools-have stayed in both and the pool houses were noisier than town houses-but not overly so.

i like that it's gated also,i know some have mixed feelings about this-but i like the security element.

I think our TH is on Crystal Cove Loop - will this be the THs before the manned gate and does this mean there isn't as much security on this section?

Crystal Cove Loop is in the West End area - there is still a gate on that section, it is operated by a code. That area is actually slightly quicker to get to than going to the townhomes in the other section.
