Emerald Island Resort

Hello!
I am looking for you thoughts on emerald island resort. I came across it yesterday while looking for a place to stay for our trip to Disney. We have been to Disney before but have always stayed on property. Our children our now 17 and we need more space so we thought this place looked like a great option. We will be travelling with 3 other families and will probably rent to houses to house all of us. If you have stayed at emerald island can you please give me your opinion on it.

It is a very good place to stay .

You must have a car. OR USE Taxi option .. NO Public Transport.

It is about a 10min drive to Animal Kingdom .

It is about a 5 min drive to many good eating places AND a few min. more to other eating places

All approx. $ 20 to $ 30 per person

Publix , Target & the new Walmart are within a 10 min drive .

We stayed in a 3 bedroom Townhome at EI. It is in a good place for shops and restaurants and like Woodview said not far from the parks. We didn't use the communal facilities. But if you rent a home you will have your own pool.

We just booked an Airbnb in that area and I'm pretty geeked as our flight gets in earlier than our Disney resort stay. The places there look very expansive and have their own pools. Some of the hosts even have themed houses which is awesome. We're plotting out our stay with getting Uber gift cards on sale through Amazon and our local grocery store. Also, there's Amazon Prime now which can deliver as well as Shipt (which can deliver alcohol.) I think it's going to work out well for us.
