Emerald Island - Anyone stayed there ?

Just rented a townhouse for our upcoming holiday !!! Usually we rent a villa but though we'd try the 'resort' thing this time.

To be honest, we usually spend £100s having the villa pool heated but rarely use it. And I think our 3 yr old will prefer a communal pool where theres other children around.

I like the area around the old Splendid China/US192 anyway. Lots of restaurants around (Carabbas !!!) and close to Disney (especially via the shortcut to AK). We stayed behind Walmart down 192 towards Kissimee last year which was OK but a little bit far away.

I notice that some of the places at EI were a bit of a walk from the clubhouse/pool but luckily we've got one dead close...

I made all prospective renters circle their property on a download of the satellite map from google maps so that I could see how far it was to walk ! Sad or what ???

We stayed at Emerald Island last year in one of the 7 bedroom villas. We loved it. Very nice resort and the location is great - really handy for the Formosa Gardens shopping area which has some great places to eat and only a few minutes till you're on Disney property using the Sherbeth Road!!!

Where is yours ? We found that there were about 6 or so that were too close :-(( Loads of people walking past and a lot of noise from the pool area.

WE have just returned from Emerald island thought it was Beautiful and the staff at the club house are very helpful and friendly.The location was excellent we hope to stay there again next year.

Not yet stayed there but will be soon! have been told by many people it's in a very good location though.

In one of the townhouses (Sand Key Lane?) down toward the clubhouse end...

The thing is we didnt want to be miles from the clubhouse though.

Thats more like it, thats where we have stayed a few times, you just want to make sure you are not in one that can see the pool, they are not very private. The number we stayed in was 2779.
