Emerald Club Reservation - Confused

I recently reserved a Standard size car with National for our upcoming trip. I am an Emerald Club member and booked the reservation through the Emerald Club login, using a member coupon.

The confirmation says I have a Standard car, but at the top it says, "Your level of service is Emerald Aisle. Please proceed directly to the Emerald Aisle to choose your vehicle."

I thought anything other than mid-size would be Emerald Reserve. Does this just mean I can bypass the counter (rather than choose from the Emerald Aisle)?

I'm confused....

It means exactly what the reservation confirmation stated. You go to the EA and select a car. There is no standard size row at MCO. You do not have to go to the counter.

I have no idea what you mean by this.

thanks! I was just wondering whether the use of the term "Emerald Aisle" on the confirmation was referring to counter bypass rather than the specific aisle to choose the car from.

When I rented from Alamo at MCO in 2010, there was no standard aisle, so we were directed to the full size aisle. Is there a difference for National? In other words:

For Alamo - reserve standard, choose from full size aisle
For National Emerald Club member - reserve standard, choose from mid-size Emerald Aisle

??

Sorry for the confusion

Yes, you go to the Emerald Aisle to select your car.

Just remember, the Emerald Aisle can (and in my own personal experience DOES) contain FAR more than mid-size cars. I think I've only noticed once that I personally would consider mid-size (not knowing the intricate ins and outs of their system, I am just going by my eyes here). We've gone with the "rent a mid-size, go to the Aisle" system 3 times at MCO now, and have gotten a Dodge Nitro, a Durango, and a Toyota Sienna for that mid-size cost.

Your mileage may very well vary. But I've also seen plenty of big-trunked, more luxurious types of vehicles on the Aisle that remind me of our Grand Marquis, so if you really want a full size and nothing bigger, in my own personal experience you'll see those type of cars, too.

Yes, just go to the Emerald aisle and select your car. Generally, anything but a midsize goes to Reserve, but, because there is no standard row, it defaults to EA. I think you are confusing yourself with the counter and Emerald aisle.
You go to the counter pretty much with a non EC reservation, the Emerald Aisle is where the cars are parked. There will be at least midsize cars and often larger.

Don't be sorry for the confusion, you asked legit questions.
alamo and national work a little differently.

One: there is NO mid size emerald aisle. There is only emerald aisle and emerald executive aisle. When you make a reservation via the EC log in and select mid size (or standard in this case) it defaults to selecting a car from the emerald aisle. If you make a selection say for a full size it defaults to Emerald Reserve and at the point, you still bypass the counter and go to the full size row.
