Someone mentioned Emealz on another thread. I looked it up and it does look helpful for 1.25 wk. But I am not sure I would use faithfully. It is a 3 month committment. I would be using the family plan.

Is anyone a subscriber? What has been your experience? I would love to see a couple samples.

Thanks:surfweb::surfweb:

We used to use eMealz. Loved it!!!!!! Can't recommend it highly enough. We only stopped because we switched to a more vegetarian meal plan. They have one, but it didn't appeal to us. I always had the best luck with them on their regular menu, not any of the diet ones. It saved us a TON of money... we were making full dinners for two five nights a week, often with leftovers, for about $45.

Don't forget you can save a little money on the first 3-month subscription by using promo code DAVE at checkout.

I did it when I was in school. You can look at their website and see sample menus for the various programs they have.

For us it worked ok, but much of it was food that we didn't really dig. I do much better stocking my pantry with sales and creating meals from that.

If you are looking for something to reduce costs, I didn't find it. I was spending about $90/week for food for our dinner. There were some leftovers, so it did help out with lunches for DH to take to work, but considering that is about what I spend now for all of my groceries and household needs, it didn't work as well for us.

I would give it a try for 3 months and see how you like it, OP. $12.50 (with the promo code) for three months will at least get you a whole slew of new recipes to try, and it's incredibly easy to cancel. They have awesome customer service. And you can switch menu plans once each billing period, so during that three months you can try two separate plans, if you want.

We saved a ton of money, but that was primarily because we buy almost everything store brand. eMealz is good, though, for helping you find shortcuts and other little tricks. For instance, Roma tomatoes are almost always cheaper for some reason than other tomatoes. You can also buy a rotisserie chicken at the deli, pre-cooked, and pull it all off the bone for use in recipes for cheaper than buying chicken breasts, and you don't have to cook it or deal with icky raw chicken packaging.

And if you can get on a store meal plan, they work with what's on special at that store that week, so that should help you save.

Haven't tried emealz, but really love SavingDinner.com. They have sample menus/shopping lists you can try out. Highly reccommend it!

I just signed up this past week and like it so far.. I used the "DAVE" promo code and saved $2.50 You can see a sample on the website of each of the different plans. For $12.50 it is worth trying out.. HTH. Jenn:yay:

Sign up for 3 months, print out the menus and shopping lists, and put them into a binder. Then recycle through the 3 months of recipes.
