Embassy Suites shuttle to Disneyland

We are staying at the Embassy Suites because, quite frankly, the stay is free with our Hilton points. The website says it is 1 mile from Disneyland, but mapping it shows more like 1.4 miles. They do have a free shuttle service though. Does anyone know the reliability of the shuttle there? I hate to deal with parking and such for such a short drive, yet it looks a bit far to walk with three kids.
Thanks for the help!

I would call and double check with the onsite guest services, and ask them about the free shuttle. Make sure that it is their own "dedicated" shuttle that goes to DL at regular intervals, not a "Hang on while I wake up Mikey and he'll fire up the van when he's done with his break and take you over there..." kind of thing. If it is, be sure and ask about hours of operation... like, ART, which doesn't run during lunch hour, I heard. Or that it isn't a voucher to use ART.

I wasn't aware of other hotels that have a dedicated shuttle other than CCI, which I've only heard good things about. But it sounds like if the shuttle arrangement is ok, this would be a nice place to stay. I've always enjoyed Embassy Suites.

It is on Harbor Blvd. Apparently there are several, and this one is Embassy Suites South.

After more research, I do think this is through ART. It sounded like a dedicated shuttle! Which is better, the ART or drive? We will have a car.
Thanks for the help!

I'd go with ART. When we have parked we have walked further than just about any shuttle would cause you to walk. Others have different luck, but we are always put in just about the furthest-away parking spot you can be given (they direct you to park, you don't choose where to park), and between the walk from the parking spot to the escalator, from the escalator to the tram, from the tram drop-off to security...we're already wiped out! I'd rather take ART.

It gets curiouser and curiouser ... the mailing address of the "Anaheim - South" hotel is actually Garden Grove. There is no Embassy Suites in Buena Park, so that other site is just plain wrong. The hotel site doesn't mention a shuttle.

A thread on this site strongly advises against driving from your hotel.

You would take ART route 2 to/from the DLR.

If I'm not mistaken, The Embassy Suites is on Harbor across from the Target and behind the Red Robin and Joe's Crab Shack. It would be a very long walk. Doesn't it share the shuttle with the Hyatt that is just across the street? We have only stayed at the Hyatt, but if it does share the shuttle, it is very reliable.

My husband says that this is correct, as to where it is located. When we originally booked our trip, it just said "free shuttle service to Disneyland". Now, I can't find it on the Embassy website. When I clicked on additional info, it says that transportation is provided by ART. I searched on the disboards and found several people who mentioned sharing a shuttle with another local hotel. So, I am completely confused. I guess we will try the shuttle service the first day, and if it is terrible, drive the next. It seems like the shuttle would be easier.

Has anyone been there recently?
Thanks,
Melanie

There used to be an Embassy Suites in Buena Park, just down the street & probably within walking distance from Knotts Berry Farm. It looks like that hotel has been renamed to Radisson Suites, so probably all the websites haven't updated their info.

Embassy Suites South is on Harbor and that area is called Garden Grove (right next to Anaheim, though). Parking is really tight in that area, you have the Embassy Suites, Residence Inn Resort Area, Homewood Suites, Marriott Suites and a lot of people who need to park, so taking the ART is a good option. A few years ago this hotel did have its own dedicated shuttle, but uses the ART. There is another Embassy Suites - Embassy Suites North, off of the 91 FWY, and it is 6 miles from DL. It does have its own dedicated shuttle to Disneyland.

Thank you so much! So, it is the ART vs. driving. We will definitely try the ART.

Even disneyland.com has a map that lists "Embassy Suites Buena Park"!

I'm guess this is just a more geographically accurate, but unofficial name for the "Anaheim North" hotel.

Years ago, Disneyland Resort considered all three Embassy Suites as Good Neighbor hotels, and a few years ago they dropped Embassy Suites Buena Park (not to be confused with Embassy Suites North).

Here is a map to help you associate the right locations.

Embassy Suites - Buena Park is now Radisson Suites, and MAY have its own shuttle to Disneyland, but is not considered a Good Neighbor Hotel. It is down the street from Knotts.

Embassy Suites South - Anaheim/Garden Grove, Harbor Blvd. is the closest one and uses the ART shuttle

Embassy Suites North - Anaheim, Frontera Street, off of the 91 Fwy, and has its own dedicated shuttle.

This thread is going astray , but it's an interesting one. I'm local to the area, so I have no dog in this fight. I do see that disneyland.com lists "Anaheim North" and "Anaheim South" as Good Neighbor Hotels. However, a map presently on that site includes "Anaheim", "Anaheim South" and "Buena Park" Embassy Suites hotels. Way to confuse visitors, Disney!

Now, if I could just remember what the Knott's Berry Farm Resort Hotel used to be called ...

They Hyatt shares a shuttle with the Crowne Plaza, it doesn't stop at the Embassy Suites, it drives right past it. You could probably walk to the stop at the CP and take that shuttle anyway, we were never asked to show our hotel key. ftr, we stayed at the CP, it was a nice hotel and we loved how close it was to Joe's. Goooooood food!!

Ah, CP! I couldn't remember who Hyatt shares with. Joe's is a nice break from Disney food. Is the Embassy Suites the one that serves breakfast and a dinner/snack type offering? If it is, I was wrong, we have stayed there. The elevators tend to be on the slow side, but the rooms were nice and clean and the food was good.

Yes! The Embassy Suites always has a "cook to order" breakfast. You can design your own omlette or they pre-cook scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, and pancakes. Of course, they have a million other things like cereal, fruit, pastries, etc. In the afternoon, they do a "manager reception" with free cocktails, sodas, and snacks. You can't beat it. With 5 of us, we have to have a suite and the free breakfast is great! Since it is free with our reward points, we will try the shuttle service.
