Embassy Suites - My Review

Our family of 6 just got back from a stay at Embassy Suites LBV. We really enjoyed the hotel. Of course a family of our size needs the extra beds. Plus this one had an extra sink in the "bedroom" area. It also comes with small fridge and microwave. The biggest plus was the free breakfast. Everyone really filled up and then we did a table service at the parks around 2:00. Sometimes when we got back around 9:30 a few pop tarts and everyone was good. This hotel is a bit off the beaten path. We could walk to some places for food and groceries but it wasn't close. Thanks to whoever posted the travelzoo discount. That saved us close to $300. We also did not rent a car this trip. That saved us $800 in rental car, parking fees and hotel parking fees. The shuttle was good. Not great, but not bad schedule either. Our family couldn't do the parks all day, so we left at the 9:15 shuttle and they dropped us off at the T&TC. It took about 20 minutes to get from hotel to T&TC. Then about another 15 to the parks and inside the doors. The kids really enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool and "Dive In Theatre". They played movies on the big screen by the pool. The customer service here was very good. Pool was very nicely heated. Any request to the front desk always was resolved in about 15 minutes with a follow up call to make sure it was done. Would definitely stay here again.

Thanks for the review! Do you have any pix of the place???

Just curious, when I checked their shuttle schedule, it looked like there were no options for coming back to the hotel in the afternoon. Did you just spend the whole day at the park?

Someone else on this board had posted the web site for the shuttle service and I got a bit nervous. But it seems they adjust their schedule according to the park hours. We usually did the 9:15am shuttle to the parks. We would stay all day and then leave around 6:30pm or stay for the 9:15pm shuttle. They did have a 10:45pm shuttle but my kids never wanted to stay that long. Most of the shuttles ran in the am and pm. They seemed to take the afternoon off. I'll post pictures if I can figure it out. The shuttle service was by Platinum. I think they do the Sheraton also.

OK, Sorry I can't figure out how to post pictures but I did recheck their web site and any picture I have is on there also. Click on the Tour Hotel icon.

We're staying there in April for a surprise trip to the World and can't wait - kids don't have a clue yet. :goodvibes Do you know what the earliest shuttle time was? And does the shuttle only take you to the TTC? Any other tips for staying there - ie. does Breakfast get crazy busy in the morning? Is there a room location that is preferable to others? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for posting this. We have switched from staying in two rooms on-site (CSR) to two rooms at this property. We have always enjoyed Embassy Suites Hotels and I think this one should be fine for our family of eight. We are most looking forward to the great breakfast before hitting the parks. I noticed you mentioned that you made your table service reservations for 2:00. Was that a time that worked out for you as far as appetite after having such a large breakfast?

I am toying with switching to a lot of late lunches and then enjoying snacks (Ghirardelli, pastries, etc.) at night. Because we were originally booked on-site with the dining plan, I have a lot of dinner time meals reserved. I am thinking of keeping a few of those--but mostly going the late lunch route.

Again, thanks for posting your review. It is nice to see something written about the place where we will be staying. :thumbsup2

We also did not rent a car this trip. That saved us $800 in rental car, parking fees and hotel parking fees.

Hotel parking fees? Does the Embassy Suites charge for parking?

I've never stayed at an Embassy Suites in Florida, but in general this is my favorite hotel chain. Their breakfast is wonderful, and these hotels are so family friendly. Thanks for posting -- looks like another Orlando area lodging option to consider.
