Has anyone stayed at any of the Embassy Suites (Anaheim) Close to Disneyland? Looking for opinions on quality and safety of the area. We have stayed in some really great Embassy Suites while a couple of them have been marginal at best. Really appreciate any input.

Thanks!!

I have stayed at the one in Garden Grove, which I believe is the closest to Disneyland. There are several in the area.

The Garden Grove one is clean and safe and about a one mile walk to the parks. There are many restaurants on the same block.

Glad to hear this! we're booked there for November of '19. Even though it's a little further out, I felt more confident booking at Embassy than some of the independents.

I agree. Always like having input from a fellow DIS Boarder! I have never been steered wrong in the past on these message boards. I trust this input more than the anonymous sources in online reviews.
Thank you so much!!

We have stayed at the Embassy Suites twice. We have had no issues and enjoy their breakfast. We prefer to be across the street from the parks, but in a pinch we would stay here again.

We have stayed at Embassy Suites and it was nice enough but also preferred the Homewood Suites. Newer, cleaner and you could walk to Disney. Some people take the shuttle from the Toy Story Parking Lot.

We love Embassy Suites in Garden Grove. All the room are 2 bedroom suites which works great for our family of 4.
We take the hotel shuttle to and from the park. The shuttle is punctual and saves our feet!
The breakfast is awesome: omelettes, cereal, fruit, bagels, etc.
Buca di Beppo is a 30 second walk from hotel. On nights we do not want to eat in the park, we place a to go order as we are leaving park and pick up on the way to our room. Eat and crash!
Let me know if you have any other questions, we stay there about twice a year! We are booked for a 4 night stay in February.

We have friends who like staying at the ES Garden Grove. The location works well for them -- restaurants right there, Target across the street. There is a shuttle, but now Uber/Lyft makes the trip to/from the parks even easier. (That ES is about one mile south of DLR.) Our friends haven't had any complaints about that property after all the times they've stayed there.

I'll be the wet blanket here. We've stayed at Embassy probably 3 or 4 times. It's not my hotel of choice due to 1. It's not walkable 2. The breakfast is the typical cheap institutional type food, substandard not restaurant quality and complementary snacks are gold fish crackers or tortilla chips and raw broccoli and carrots. 3. Wi-Fi is almost not usable due to being soooo slow and only worked in the very front of the living room near the window and some days we've had no tv. 4. I'd say it's just about as safe as any other property that far down Harbor, but one time we felt particularly unsafe. No way I would walk from DL at midnight that far down Harbor. 4. Buca DiBeppo is not an edible perk. We ordered spaghetti take out once and even my not so picky kids or husband wouldn't eat it. There was really no sauce and not enough for 4 light eaters. 5. The shuttle is out front but often full and you'll have to wait for the next bus that isn't timely. 6. They aren't 2 room suites. It's one bedroom separate from the living room area. 7. Overly crowded small pool. I think the newer closer Homewood Suites or Springhill, Residence Inn are better, closer choices and may be walkable for some. We actually like the Hilton Garden Inn better; it's next door.

Is this your opinion of all of the Embassy hotels you've stayed in, or just this one? The small pool and room layout are pretty consistent with the brand, so I'm trying to figure out if this is a poor quality Embassy or just not as nice as some of the others you mentioned.

We have done the walk, it is just over a mile. I would not walk it with kids, but at the time our daughters asleep in her stroller and we didn’t want to wake her!

We have stayed at this hotel on a big family trip, it was a few years ago. I would not choose this hotel because it is too far to walk. I don't like to drive or take a shuttle.

Also, when we were there we never even had a chance to try the breakfast because it didn't start early enough for us. It was Thanksgiving week so the park had 8 a.m. entry. Breakfast started at 7.

Edit to add: Garden Grove

Also, we did eat Thanksgiving Dinner there after a day at Knotts and it was very good.

Which one? As others have pointed out, there are at least three in the area with "Anaheim" in their names...

If you decide to take Uber/Lyft instead of the hotel shuttle (and this would free you from the shuttle schedule), have the driver drop you at one of the hotels or restaurants right across from the DLR Harbor entrance. Then you could just cross at the crosswalk and go straight to the Harbor bag check. Otherwise the driver would have to make a U-turn at Ball in order to drop you at the Harbor drop off. People post that using the crosswalk can be easier and quicker, especially if there is a lot of traffic at the Ball & Harbor intersection.

Note to all - the ES that is actually in Anaheim is actually the furthest from DLR of the ones that advertise being "close to Disneyland". It's 6+ miles away, next to a freeway and a junk yard, on East Frontera. ES Garden Grove is the closest, about a mile away, and the one in Orange is on State College Blvd, about 3 miles away. ES Orange is walking distance to Angel Stadium and the Anaheim Amtrak station (although you wouldn't want to walk it with your luggage) and a couple of nice breweries - Golden Road and Karl Strauss.
