This is embarrassing for me to ask, but I'm kind of nervous about flying because of being plus sized. I'm about a size 26 (gasp!) and worried about the seat belt fitting around me. Do they have seat belt extenders in case I need one? We are flying American Airlines. Should I ask for one before I go to my seat?

I'm trying my hardest to lose a few pounds before we go, but I don't have enough time to make that big of a difference. This is a last minute trip.

Any advice?

Yes, I would suggest quietly asking for an extender when you first get on. They usually handle this quiet discreetly.

I am the same size. You will be MUCH more comfortable with the extender than trying to squeeze into the seat belt, if it is even possible.

Have a great trip and dont let this ruin your trip!!!!

Thank you for the advice...that makes me feel better. I'm just going to ask when I first get on the plane, so I don't have to ask with everyone else around me when we are sitting down.

Has anyone else had to do this?

I am the same size and since I gate check my ecv, I usually one of the first to board. I just ask as I get on and there is no problem!
