Email show is up! 6/24/2010

I think Paul's mad because he isn't going to be hanging with us tomorrow... :)

I just checked my iTunes, and I see it and it downloaded for me...it did, however, replace the un-downloaded roundtable show (on this computer).

I'm betting that if you already downloaded the discussion show, you need to delete the podcast and then resubscribe. But if you haven't listened to the existing roundtable show, you'll lose it.

Methinks someone botched the XML file...

Thanks. I had to delete the discussion show - thankfully I already listened to it, and then unsubscribe and subscribe to get it to download.

I unsubscribed and then resubscribed to the podcast in iTunes and it finally downloaded. ;)
 

Finally!! I unsubscribed and then resubscribed as was suggested and it worked for me. Yay! Now I have something to listen to!

I tried this.
It started downloading the whole library of DIS shows!

I see the email show in the iTunes store.
I have the discussion show.
I keep asking it to update podcast to get the email show.
Nothing.

Hopefully it will work better next time I log in to iTunes.
 

Anyone who sends out mass mailings sends one to themseleves to make sure the mailing is working. A podcast post is similar. So if you don't follow through and make sure your post worked and then inform your custumers if there is a problem then you should not rant at others for not following through. The compleat lack of communication to listeners when there are podcast problems or no shows drives me crazy. It's not just the Dis CNET does it all the time.

Are you saying that we should charge for the pod cast?

There has been an issue with iTunes for the last few days.......and I thought I had already mentioned that.

If there is an issue that can be addressed by us.....I think we're pretty good about letting folks know.

Now.....if you want to go back to that charging thing.......heck....I'll be happy to call you personally.....for the right price.

At the current rate you are paying......I think we're going to have to stick with our current plan.

What I am looking for is Pete or who posts the show, posts the show. Then sends an email to you or some one else and says I posted the show check and see if it worked. Then if it didn't work after a couple of hours of mucking about a post saying the internet gods are messing with us trying to fix thanx for not coming at us with torches. On the other hand I may have need to keep my Rant to myself like Pete did this past week.

First......the Big and Tall shop doesn't carry knickers and even if they did......I think they'd make me look boxy.

Second......I'll pass along your business model.

Third....I'm fairly certain that you can glean all of what you have asked for in the above, from the posts that have proceeded ours.

Or...if the podcast hasnt been posted (as it normally is) and you dont see a post from one of us letting you know that a show hasnt been recorded for whatever reason (as we normally do)....you could just make an assumption that there is a technical glitch somewhere and that it's being worked on.

I think I just solved the whole dilemma.

I need a raise.

Sorry, it showed up last night for me. But Friday night is still really delayed. Strange that everyone had so much trouble. But, like Kevin said, itunes has been lagging the last few days. :confused3

Just glad that we're all finally getting our podcast fix. :goodvibes
 
Still has not made it down the tin cans & strings that is the Australian iTunes
 
Just adding to the mix - still not showing up in iTunes for me yet either.
 
I am patient. I will get it from iTunes when it shows up.

The rest of you... We are all eventually going to end up at the same place, eventually listening to the show.

I've figured out what is wrong. It isn't an iTunes problem itself, it is the XML file that iTunes downloads from the DIS...I'll PM WebmasterAlex about it.

I think the unsubscribe/resubscribe workaround only works if you have also deleted the "Discount Options" roundtable show. Otherwise it believe you already have the email show - because they have the same "unique" ID...
 
Yes! Just downloaded it in iTunes.
I had to ration the Discounts show to last me all weekend. :laughing:
Thanks to Kevin for reading and responding to our anxious posts from going thru DIS withdrawal. ;)
