Email pins for canadians, come join our e-mail campaign.

If you’re just planning on just sending me one of your form letters as a reply, do me a favour and save your stamp.

Thank you,

Jamie-Lyn ******

That last part might be alittle harsh. Overall I think it gets to the point on what is needed to be said about Canadians not getting codes and discounts.
Isn't that funny that I'm sure that Mr. Walt Disney himself would be upset do to us Canadians getting the short end of the stick. For anyone who doesn't know this....Mr. Walt Disney was Canadian.

Actually Walt was born in Chicago Illinois. His father, Elias Disney, was an Irish-Canadian. But that's close enough. ;)

Hi: Sounds good, my hubby always tells me when writing to someone to try and get something changed always be polite and positive, and to actually compliment them at the beginning before you put what your beef is about.

So take out the last part, the form letter and about keeping your stamp. If you tick them off they won't help you if they were thinking of helping.

Also you could say something at the end like "have a magical disney day"

I will keep those addresses and also send a couple of letters when my son gets the printer hooked up again.

Great work.

Hi Suzy,

I don't have a copy of the e-mail I sent, but something along these lines would probably be good:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I'm writing to inquire about the pin code e-mails/postcards that are being sent out to select guests of the Walt Disney World Resort. From what I have gathered, these discounts are only sent out to American residents. Is this true? If so I was just curious as to why you do not send them out to Canadian Residents as well. I enjoy visiting your resort, but it's very expensive for my family to plan a trip (with the high cost of airfare here in Canada, and the exchange rate) without some type of discount. I know that if I were to be included in these discount codes, I would be able to visit disney more often, and I'm sure many other Canadians feel the same way. I hope that in the very near future you will consider offering more discounts to Canadian Residents.

Thank-you

I Specifically mentioned how much airfare is from here in Regina (around $700-$800 per person)

Hi, I also sent a copy of this email to Disney and got this reply back
Thank you for your e-mail to the Walt Disney World® Resort.

We appreciate the time you took to contact us. We wanted to let you
know that we have received your message and are reviewing it. If you
will provide us with your name, phone number, and an indication of the
best time to reach you as a reply to this message, one of our
representatives will contact you directly within the next few weeks.

Sincerely,

Executive Offices
Walt Disney World® Resort

Now I don't know if they will return a call to me or, but has anyone received this reply back from Disney before :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I've never gotten an email nor is there a pin attached to our name. My friend got married there in 2001 and she's never gotten anything either! You'd think that they'd want someone who spent that kind of money to come back don't you? She hasn't been back since but is going next year with us. I'd love to find her a better deal.

When Disney closed the Disney Club - I was a chapter co-ordinator and told them they were leaving Canadians out of the discounts because the Disney Visa is only for US residence.

I bring it up every time some one asks me what they could improve on. It has not been years and nothing has changed! It drives me crazy.

Can someone tell me more about the Email PIN number as this is the first time I have heard of it. I do have a US address that I can use but would rather they acknowledge us Canadians how take more than 1 million trips to the US each year and add us into the deal!
:rolleyes1

Hi: Just letting everyone know that I still have not heard anything back from my email to guest relations, I asked for it to be forwarded to marketing. All I heard is that it was sent to marketing about two weeks ago.

In our local hamilton spectator today on page Go l8 there was an article about disney world, isn't just for kids. It was how adults could enjoy wdw also.
I wrote to the author letting him know how us canadians are being left out for the email pins discounts on accommodations and the disneyclub had been replaced by disney visa which we cannot join. He did mention occasionally disney has canadian dollars at par in the off season .

If anyone else wants to write to him about canadians not getting email pin discounts, cannot join disney visa etc here is his address. He is with the Hamilton Spectator newspaper in hamilton.

sradley@thespec.com

The author mentioned a lady's name in it Linda Warren, executive vice-president of marketing for disney parks and resorts. I asked that he please forward my email to Linda Warren if he could.

Deb.

Hi: That is what I am hoping, that he will forward our emails to the marketing vice president. I can't seem to get past guest services with my emails.

He wrote a nice article, about how disney is just as fun for adults as it is for children, or for adults who do not have any children. Thanks,

Deb.

Hi all! I just came across this discussion forum for the first time yesterday and sent a copy of an email that one of you had posted regarding email pins for Canadians.

I received the following reply today:

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Due to the Canadian privacy laws, we are not allowed to send these promotions to Canadian residents.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if applicable on all
correspondence.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Does anyone know what they're referring to specifically with regard to the Canadian privacy laws?

Hi: I don't know what that means.

Why could they not just put them in their computers where they have collected info about each of us , (you know when we call down and they ask, how many trips to wdw in past, name and address etc.) for those canadians that have registered with them through central reservations.

Huh? :confused3 I would like to know as well ...

Maybe Disney needs to start telemarketing instead. I sure get a lot of telemarketers calling me at night ... I wonder if they know about the privacy laws  :rotfl:

There are new privacy laws that have taken effect in Canada this year but they deal with passing personal information to another company. There is absolutely no law stating that an American (or any other company) cannot send a Canadian resident a special promotion! If that were the case we wouldn't be getting these phone calls from timeshares offering free trips, cruises etc to Florida and I'm still getting emails from the Swan and Dolphin! I can't believe they would come up with such a lame excuse!!!

This is what it said:

Dear Winnie,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World. Resort.

Walt Disney World Marketing occasionally sends out PIN offers to targated groups of people.
Occasionally "Canada at Par" tickets may be offered, and are heavily advertised in Canada through both print and broadcast media. Although we currently do not have any information on the next offer, we encourage you to watch for advertisements regarding ticket specials through your local
media sources.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if applicable on all
correspondence.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Looks like you got a lot more than the rest of us!

Here's hoping!

I just checked my messages and Yolanda from Guest Services called me today about my email! Of course I wasn't home but she left her number and her hours and wanted me to call her back. She also said she had forwarded my letter to Marketing.
I will try to call her tomorrow just to see what she says. I thought it was interesting to say the least! :flower:

Hi: That is good news. Let us know what she says to you when you finally get through to her.

Deb.
