I got this email today from ebay, to clarify fees that everyone has been talking about on here.

Dear eBay Seller,

Recently, we announced fee changes taking effect on February 18th and affecting certain optional listing upgrades on eBay.com, the subscription fee for a Basic eBay Store, and Final Value Fees on Store Inventory Format listings. Based on Community input, we understand our original communication was a bit unclear.

To clarify, no changes are being made to the Final Value Fees on Auction-style, Auction with Buy It Now option, and Fixed Priced listings (with the exception of certain Business & Industrial capital equipment categories). Final Value Fee changes apply only to Store Inventory Format listings, a listing format only available to Store sellers and with durations of 30, 60, 90, and 120 days and Good 'Til Cancelled.

The Final Value Fees for Auction-style listings, Auction with Buy It Now option, and Fixed Price listings have remained unchanged since 2002.

You can view the full details of the pricing announcement here.

Regards,

eBay

Do not go to eBay or PayPal or Amazon etc. by cllicking the blue words in email messages. Do not cut and paste words from email messages into (the URL space) of your browser to make it easier to go somewhere.

Instead hand type ebay.com or paypal.com or whatever and go there in the normal fashion.

Just got another fake email from ebay today. Read above advice and you can also forward the email to www.spoof@ebay.com and ask them. They just answered me and told me it was a spoof email....so be careful out there

The OP's email was actually a "real" email from ebay. It's announced in out myebay's. But good advice, nonetheless.

If it is real correspondence from eBay (or PayPal) it will include either your full name or your User ID in the salutation. It will not just have your e-mail address.

That's what they always told us. But go look at your messages in myEbay. Everyone got that note. It's not spam, it's from eBay. It's on your summary page under messages. And it starts out "Dear eBay Seller". It came Feb 2, and everyone was supposed to get it. It doesn't ask for any personal info..it just sends you to the announcement page at eBay.
This one is a real one.
