email help needed

Hi, here's my question; I've used the same internet provider for ages. To pick up my email I go to hotmail.com even though my email address uses the name of the provider. If I went with another service say aol for ex. would my old address still be usable since it's on hotmail? The reason Im asking is that I dont want to lose mail or have to start changing everything I get or let everyone I know that they have to change my address. Thanks for the help.

Yes. Hotmail is free to everyone. Even though you change providers, you will still be able to use your email address. You can even forward your hotmail emails to your new address. Or you can go to msn.com and check your email there.

If I understand you right, you are using hotmail to access your PoP email account (such as @verizon.net or @roadrunner.com).

If you quit paying for Verizon, Roadrunner, etc., that company does not have to keep your email address active and you will no longer be able to access it through any medium (hotmail, outlook, etc.)
