Email from Disney urging me to select an opportunity before 1M is reached!!

Some members of my family signed up but didn't select a volunteer opportunity yet. I received this email from Disney:

"...We're close to reaching our goal of inspiring one million people, so sign up for a volunteer activity now....If you have committed to an activity before we have reached our goal of inspiring one million people, then after you complete your service and it is verified, you'll be able to print a voucher for your FREE ticket to a Walt Disney World Theme Park."

In between the two paragraphs above are instructions on how to communicate with participating organizations and commit to an activity.

So it sounds to me that when 1M people commit to a volunteer activity the limit will be reached and the vouchers will no longer be offered. This approach eliminates the problem that someone committed to an activity but the vouchers ran out before they fulfilled their assignment.

I guess they could still decide to increase the 1M limit but the email certainly implies that is not the plan! The slow pokes in my family will need to make a decision!

I got the same one but I just committed to one yesterday so there must be a delay in the system. I was relieved that it says if you are committed and fulfill your volunteer activity you still get a voucher, our date to volunteer isn't until April 10th.

Our group signed up and completed our project, sent everything in and our status states pending verification and we all just received an email that states we have not yet signed up for anything and that we need to before one million is reached. ?????

Could just be a mass mailing to everyone who has signed up for the promotion, if verification is pending I wouldn't worry.

Ugh...we haven't been able to do anything near us yet...it didn't seem like they'd close it out this fast, if at all...they might still extend it, but who wants to take the risk?

Also received the same e-mail. Worried b/c I have already signed up for an activity but it's not until May 2. The system won't let me add it b/c its more than 60 days out.

I agree. We made blankets at home for a Children's Home, but I had to sign up for a drop off time to get credit, which is tomorrow. Last night I got an email from Disney saying that we still needed to pick an activity. Then when I log on, it shows our times set for tomorrow. Must be a glitch in their system somewhere.

I got that email yesterday and volunteered today.
