Email from Disney selling OKW inventory - strange!

Can someone explain this to me? It was that email that everyone is getting about the inventory in your use year. It said that OKW had .77% of inventory left in my use year (April). I have already received emails from my other home resorts, but they used actual numbers of how many points are left, not a percentage.

Got the same email a couple of weeks ago that said there was 1.32% in my use year. I called and put in an order for 25 points, but nothing has come in the nine days since I talked with my sales guy.

I'm just guessing but I think they are just using "spin" to create some urgency and get the points sold.

.77% sounds like a small (very limited) amount, but if they listed the actual raw number, it would sound like there are lots available and so no need to hurry to buy right now.

I thought the same thing, except when I got the same email about HH points, it stated that there were 4500 points, NOT a percentage. Interesting, huh?

I have an April Use Year and own at OKW - I did not receive any emails.

This could very well be from a member selling their interest in DVC at OKW and DVC rebuying it back from them. DW and I are in the process of selling our 270 point contract at OKW as we are buying a larger contract at AKV. We want them (all our points) to be in the same use year and at the same location. I suspect that once I have offers on my contract DVC will come swooping in and buy them as they have the right of first refusal on any contracts being sold.

We just sent our paperwork yesterday back to DVC for closing. We visited the Sales office while we were there on vacation last week and wanted to buy into AKV as my wife and I decided that if they ever built at AKL we would buy.

We got the e-mail yesterday and if we had not just added to our BWV points because of the e-mail we received on Friday, we might have considered adding more at OKW.

We received our email on 6/6. It stated there were only .67% of points available in our use year (June), as of May 10th. Are members getting these emails for other locations or just OKW? We recently added on to BWV or we would have been interested in picking up some of these points. Oh well, maybe next time. Funny that the emails are going out at different times.

We got one from BWV saying that 1000 pts. were available for April use year, but they are gone now.

I can't answer your question regarding the December UY availability, but I suggest calling your guide and being put on the wait list for points at BWV if they are not immediately available. That's how we got our first 50 pts at BWV. We had to wait only about a week when we did this a couple of years ago. OKW was our original resort where we have the most points, but we have used the points at BWV and VB many times.
