Elvis Presley's Heartbreak Hotel in Memphis

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? Just curious if you enjoyed it. Is it clean? In a good, (safe), part of town? We will be in Memphis in April and thought this might be kind of a fun, campy place to stay. Thanks for any info. I've visited their website, but I'd like to get opinions from people who have stayed there.

I'm hoping to find out some info too....I'd like to go to Graceland & stay at this hotel. Hopefully someone has stayed there & will provide some good info!

I spotted the hotel when we toured Graceland.....It didnt look very impressive....sort a reminded me of a refurbished Days Inn....The area around Graceland is kind of run down.....I am sure there are nice parts of Memphis but I sure didnt see any....I am glad we toured Graceland, but the next time we will drive as fast as we can through Memphis and stay somewhere else....

We actually stayed there in 2000. I have stayed at nicer places, but we stayed for the novelty. DD, who was 10 at the time, thought that the pool was a hoot. Our room overlooked the pool and it was a heart shaped. We went during the summer and there were lots of people from all over the world there. Everyone was so friendly and would invite you to this party or that party. We did it once but we don't need to stay there again. If you are an Elvis fan I think you will enjoy it.
