Elusive DL Reservations

Without a doubt, the hardest reservation to get it the Fantasmic Balcony Dessert reservation. Unless you are staying on propery and have VP do it, you must call exactly one month (eg.june 30 for july 30) and as soon as the phones open at 8am pacific time. Actually, to be sucessful, you should have 2 phones dialing at the same time and then speak really quickly with no chit chat or you might lose out on the tickets esp. if you want an early show.

As for restaurants, none are hard unless, like the pp said, you wait too long. When I call at 60 days out, the CMs even sound surprised-lol. The worst line with no reservations is Rainforest Cafe at dinnertime on a weekend.

Other than the ones above, I would say Blue Bayou and Goofy's Kitchen.

Club 33 is the hardest to get. You have to know someone.
Next would be F! dessert, balcony seating, first show.
For a regular meal- Ariels for the princess meal or Blue Bayou.

I don't know about the others but for character meals we have had the hardest time getting one at Ariel's Grotto. That seems to fill up the fastest.

FWIW, we just returned from our first ever DL trip. We booked the Fantasmic gallery balcony seating, first show. I did call exactly 30 days in advance at 2 minutes past 8 PST and we were still the last people to get tickets. (They seat you in order of ticket purchase). IMHO, it was not worth the cost. If anything, I would book the premium seating closer to the stage below. Here they seat you in order of appearance at the location with your tickets.

We sat with a few people who did nothing but complain in their most elitist snobby manner about how much food they were entitled to and how "they better not take it away" before the show was complete. :rolleyes2 They effectively ruined the experience for us. Clearly they were repeat visitors to this location and were certain that we all were very aware of that fact. I'm sure people like that are not the norm, but there were other things.

They REALLY cram you in to that space. Since we were a couple with no children (small party), we were relegated to 2 chairs and a plant stand for our "table." I would never sit here again. It didn't feel very magical.

Sorry you did not enjoy the balcony. We had people behind us constantly complaining that that they could not see. We politely asked them to dummy up and we would try to separate a bit to make their view better. The service was excellent, the food was very good and fresh and we really enjoyed the show. There were 6 of us and that is not cheap, but well worth the experience.
I refuse to let other people(rude), ruin my experience.

I have called the night before and made reservations for goofy's kitchen in July. Maybe because I was staying at the hotel I got it. I have never had to call so far in advance. Now we are switching coast and going to WDW in August and it is making me nervous. We have done this several times. We do alot of last minute Disneyland trips since we live pretty close. :sad2:
