Can anyone post pictures of the different kinds of Elsa dresses out there? I just found out recently there are 3 different kinds and would love to see the differences.

Any opinions on each/would you recommend one over the other??

Also, are any of the dresses "itchy"? My daughter is 4 and won't wear anything that itches, regardless of how much she loves the character.

Thank you!

I don't have a pic right now but my DD has both the Disney parks version and the Disney store version. Her Disney parks version ripped the first day she had it (I should have had them replace it but didn't) and is a bit more itchy than the Disney store version. I also think the train/cape and the sleeves on the Disney store version are much prettier. She doesn't like itchy dresses either but wears them both without complaint...although she sometimes wears a tank top under them.

Looks like I need to start stalking the Disneystore dress then lol. I've heard the glitter fallout is pretty bad on that one...did you find that as well?

Apparently you have to go on the website at 3am EST every night, in the slightest chance they update. I've called countless stores, even in different states, and none have the dress either.

This. I call multiple stores in my own state and others, every day, first thing in the morning when they are opening. They do NOT have the dresses. One store today said that they got a "shipment" of the dresses, which consisted of one dress, in a 5/6 (not what I need). One dress. I have gotten up a few nights at 2AM, but to no avail (too bad I missed getting up on Tuesday at 2AM (CST) when they did have them in stock for a mere 2 hours).

It is getting so frustrating. I am either giving up on getting this dress prior to our May trip, or I will have to buy one on eBay, which I am trying not to do because it just encourages the hoarding/re-selling that is making the dress impossible to find.

I've seen the JCPenney's dress and the Disney Store dress. I like the Disney store dress better so that's what we got. The bodice on the Disney Store dress has a lot more detail. The cape does shed glitter like crazy though!

Oh and my 2.5 year old does not find the Disney Store dress to be itchy. We have a couple other Disney dresses (but the baby line from TRU) that she says are itchy.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one. It is truly ridiculous. I tried the Disney merchandise line and 2 people told me it would be another 2-3 weeks before they're even allowed to release the hold on ALL Frozen merchandise. I'm hoping my SIL's trip there next week brings some luck.

My daughter's birthday is in May, so looks like we have the same target month haha!

Out of curiosity, which store had the 5/6? That's the size I need, although I'm sure it's long gone by now.

We should make a thread here where we can post locations of dress sizes we don't need, should we find them ;)

Thank you for your input! We bought a Disney Parks Snow White dress for my 4 year old last year, and she refuses to wear it now because of the itchiness. $75 down the drain. Dont wanna make the same mistake again!

My husband is mainly concerned about the glitter (another downfall of the Snow White dress...glitter was EVERYWHERE). I was happy to read in another thread that once you wash the dress, the glitter stops being an issue.

DD has the JCP dress and I think it is beautiful. I especially think it is beautiful since I got it for $30.

She has never said anything to me about it being itchy and I actually have to beg her to take it off. She would wear it all day every day if I let her.

That's awesome!! Is there glitter on that one too?

My DMIL is a JCP store manager and got DD5 the whole Frozen line for Christmas. At the time I thought it was overkill, but I guess she knew it would fly off the shelves! I am so thankful now!

I do think the Disney parks and store dresses are a little nicer (we have several other princesses), but the JCP one is very good. It's not like those crappy Wal-Mart ones or anything like that. It doesn't seem to be quite as detailed, but it is still gorgeous and DD LOVES it. I have noticed that the glitter situation is much better than some of the Disney store and parks dresses as well. Instead of actual glitter, it has some sort of shiny woven stuff that doesn't shed all over. So that has been nice. We've washed it a couple of times and it still looks great.

The Disney Store version would probably be my first choice, but at this point, I say take whatever you can get! The JCP one is still very good, and so much cheaper! I will try to get a pic of DD wearing it tomorrow and see if I can figure out how to post it.

Our local Craigslist has a post from today for the Disney store Anna dress in size 7/8.

(Her daughter decided against it and we don't have a Disney store around here so she doesn't want to ship it back.). So. It is NWT.

Could anyone use it??? Message me if you want and I can help you.

Cost of sale plus shipping to you.

Have a great day. Sara

PS. I had NO idea these items were so popular and hard to find!! I have a boy!!

I don't have any good pictures but my DD does have both the Disney Parks and Disney store dress. I personally like the Disney Parks dress better but it has a layer of toile that ripped easily (replacement took months to find but is on it's way :yay:). Both dresses are nice so I would say get what you can find.

Hi! Quick question.... did you have any sizing issues with either? Did they both fit well? True to size? I'd greatly appreciate your input. Having a hard time figuring out what size to get my niece (she's 7 but tiny)

There are glittery snowflakes on the train. Like PP mentioned the bodice is made of a shiny material and the skirt is iridescent. The sleeves are sheer and there is also a silver snowflake trim between the bodice and skirt.

Here are some pics of my daughter in the JCPenney Elsa dress we bought back in November. It retailed for $36. My daughter wears a 18-24 months size and we bought the XXS (2/3) and it was HUGE on her. I had to take it in allover. I had to take in the sleeves up from the shoulder. I took in the bodice several inches and had to hem up the skirt about 4 inches (I did this from the waistline and it was a task since the skirt is like 4 layers and the back is elastisized.) You will also see I made a few modifications. I removed the silver trim from the front of the waistline. I added some rhinestones and blue stones to the bodice and sleeves to add some sparkle. And I also added some irridescent snowflake ornaments in different sizes that I bought at the dollar store around Christmas time. They are really lightweight and I just sewed them around on the cape. The JCPenney dress does have glittered snowflakes on it, but they don't 'shed' like some of the princess dresses Disney makes. And the pics don't do it justice, the irridescent glitter REALLY sparkles in the sunlight. But you can see the dress is a bit more tourquoise than the lighter blue/silver one that the face character of Elsa wears. (The pics on the hanger are from before my modifications.) I'll probably make her another dress from scratch, but I'm glad I bought this one when I did, and it's one of the easier dresses for our toddler to wear around the park. ;)

I will add, we are APs and frequent the parks at least once a week. The dresses that the park sold before the movie came out (and which sold out in November) were IMHO a MUCH better quality than the Elsa dresses they had back in stock the last couple of weeks. I'm a professional seamstress, and I tend to know fabrics pretty well, and the bodice especially of the newer parks dresses is of a lesser quality than the first run dresses. They are the same price, but don't have as much sparkle and shine as the other ones. The Deluxe Disney Store ones were very pretty (I've seen them up close on girls in the park) but with a little creativity, you can modify a cheaper dress and make it a bit fancier if that's your thing. :)
