Elsa Costume ~ Why me :)

Thank you! I had written off the possibility of getting an Elsa dress before our trip in a few weeks. I, too love the Anna dress, but my 7 year old dd loved Elsa.

We just returned from disney world and they had very little frozen merchandise available. We saw a sweatshirt and they only had one left and it was in a huge size. They also had one of those sets with the characters, the small little figures. We asked at the downtown disney store and also at the store next to the frozen meet and greet spot and they said it was probably going to be atleast a month before they got more Frozen merchandise. Disney def. missed the boat on this one as far as selling merchandise. We waited 1.5 hours to meet Anna and elsa at epcot this past Thursday. it would have been a three hour wait but we got lucky if you can call it lucky that it started pouring rain and some people got out of line and we became the last spot for the earlier time slot cutting the wait to 1.5 hours, otherwise it would have been even longer and this was on a day that wasnt even very busy. We practically walked on to most rides at epcot that day, but everyone wants to meet Anna and Elsa! Good luck. CM's were telling people to get in line atleast two hours early. Again we just got early that they added us to the early time slot because some people got out of line.

DH and I said the same thing (Disney missed the boat) about Sophia the First, at least in our case. DD4 loved Sophia last Christmas but there was little to nothing we could get for her. This year she has no interest in Sophia and there was all kinds of stuff out there! Frozen was the same this year; very limited, and I'm sure she'll be off her Frozen obsession by the time we see items in stores.

Was able to get a 5/6 and 7/8 Elsa dress on Disney site. My daughter and niece are going to be so happy!!:cool1:

Thanks guys! I just ordered DD a new one to replace the one she bought at WDW that ripped within a few hours.

Disney is amazing with replacing things you should call them- or better if it happens in park just go into one of the stores and tell them.

I absolutely should have taken it back when it happened but I didn't.

I, too, am looking for the Elsa costume in a 6/6x. I checked and they are on Ebay and Amazon, mostly used and one was even $608.00!!! Please, if you find them out there cheaper please post.

I just posted this in another thread, but I was at MK on Sunday, and the Emporium (off Main Street) had some Elsa dresses in stock (for the first time in forever!! LOL!) IMHO they looked to be 'cheaper' material than the ones that were in stock before the movie came out, but they were okay. I think they are $64.95 and I didn't look to see what sizes they were. I checked Castle Couture and they didn't have any at all.

I ordered an Elsa costume a couple months ago from a costume online store. At the time, it was back ordered. I just received it today.

Just called the Disney Parks merchandise line. They are not selling Frozen products over the phone.

Does anybody sell a good pattern? My mother has made some great costumes for my daughter in the past, including the Merida costume she wore to WDW (and for Halloween) in October. Given the current frenzy and her own single minded focus on Elsa, I may as well go ahead and start looking for a pattern before this coming October.

I sew for my daughter a lot so I keep pretty up to date with the major commerical pattern companies releases, and as of this moment, none of them (McCalls, Simplicity, Butterick, or Vogue) have anything in children's size that's really a good Elsa pattern. But my bet would be they will have at least a knock off version of a 'Snow Queen' costume pattern for Halloween (if not an official Disney one available). Usually the Fall patterns come out in Summer.

I just (as in the last hour) returned from my local Target store and decided to check the Disney section in the toy department for fun. There were about 8 Elsa dresses hanging up that appeared to have been just stocked. It looked like a few different sizes, you know how they hang them with the smallest in front and larger sizes in back. I was kind of surprised but it did look like they just put them there. There were no Anna dresses of any kind however.

Just a heads up if you are near a Target...:goodvibes
