I think that dress is beautiful but not very practical for Halloween with the length...

ETA - have you looked on Etsy? There are some nice dresses there too....I understand about the disney store one...

If you have a party fair (like party city) near you, ours had a whole frozen display including anna and Elsa dresses and wigs. Not the quality of Disney store but not the price.

I just received an email from Buycostumes.com for Elsa (girls' sizes available in early September, Toddler size available now.) The price was under $40 plus shipping. It is officially licensed, so it may be more like the Disney store's offering that your daughter didn't care for...but it is a more practical length and price.

Maddle

The dress is gorgeous but I would not spend that kind of money on kids costume.

Wow those are expensive! I would check Etsy for cheaper options.

We ordered ours from here:
http://www.littledressupshop.com/girls-princess-dresses-and-costumes.html

They were pre-order but we just got them in the other day, LOVE them! Cant wait for my daughters face to light up when she sees them in September (trip is a surprise). We got both Anna & Elsa.

These are the same ones I pre-ordered from my toy store and we are picking up today!! Can't wait!

We just got the Little dress up shop Elsa dress and it is AMAZING. So soft, perfectly sized, and you can wash it!!! I also got the Anna dress her her doll. Wish I would have known about this online store before I wasted money on all the Disney dresses that itch and rip!!

A toy store near me has some of them in stock (no elsa dresses in large, extra large or doll size though). They will ship to you I believe. I can't enter a link on my phone but the store is Kidz Enterprise Toys - tyngsboro ma. Their Facebook page has the most up to date info.

I purchased during the preorder at 29$ but I believe they are 39$ for the non-preorder now.

I think you're totally crazy to even consider spending $100+ for a costume. :)

But, that aside, the first one is pretty but looks like it's meant to trail and it will get stepped on, dirty, and probably rip. And you have to add $30 if you want the full crystal detailing. Yikes. The second one is not very attractive and looks more like a costume you could assemble yourself from various normal clothes as an Elsa "inspired" costume...doesn't really look like her dress to me at all...but it is different than the hundreds of other Elsa's that will be there which makes it slightly appealing.

Etsy should have some nice quality options in the middle range as far as price goes. Or you could go for a really inexpensive one that looks like her dress and make it neater by adding to it yourself.

We got the little dress up ones, and thought they were okay. I'm definitely not happy with the sizing. They run small. DD is on the taller end, and the Elsa dress barely goes past her knees. Also, I would say the 8-10 size is more like a 7/8 (at least in the Elsa, she hasn't put the Anna on) DD loves it and for the price (1/2 the price of the Disney Store) it isn't bad. It also is not scratchy at all, so that is a huge plus. If you are looking for something of a quality and looks level that is lower than the Disney Store, but higher than Target it is a good choice. If your child is fabric sensitive and hates Disney store dresses because they are scratchy it is a good choice. We ordered them back in April and received them this week, and since we ordered them we have found both Disney Store's regular Anna dress and the Anna coronation dress and there is absolutely no-comparison.

I am planning early for Halloween so I don't have to scramble last minute. My 5 year old wants to go as Elsa (of course). She doesn't like the Disney Store costume because she doesn't think it looks like Elsa's (I agree).

What are your thoughts on this costume?

I've never heard of this place before so I'm a little skeptical about ordering from them.

Any opinions are appreciated!! :)

We bought this elsa dress for our little girl a few days ago for her birthday.
And its very detailed and beautifully made.

Thank you for the links to littledressupshop! I just pre-ordered the Elsa dress with the fullness slip for my 7 year old for Halloween. I know their dresses are non-itch and she will wear it several times because we do trick or treating plus a costumed event at school plus we usually go to a Halloween party too. Thirty bucks for a comfortable costume ($37 with the slip) is a good price. Now I just need to find her crown and add some sparkly silver ballet flats which she will hopefully also be able to use with her Christmas dress and my daughter is good to go!

How long is it? Does it drag on the ground? Did you buy the wig as well?

We picked up our dresses tonight that are like the dress shop ones above.

- LOVE their feel and that they are machine washable
- sizing is okay for us, but you can size up in the Anna dress if you have some hemming skills. DD is almost 4, 38/39 inches tall. She tried on a M (size 3-5) Elsa dress and it fit her well. It had room in the bodice and was just about floor length. The fabric is shimmery and we like the sequence trim on the bottom. She tried the Anna dress on in the Large (size 5-7) and it fit well enough in the top but is too long. I plan to hem it or cinch/gather it after the row of flowers to make it shorter. She could have probably warn this in the medium as well. But since the Large fit her and I didn't want it to be too small 1-2 years from now when we prep for Frozen 2!

I much prefer th Elsa dress to the Anna dress, the flower print on the Anna dress does not go all the way around and that's a bummer. I definitely prefer the look of the Disney Anna dresses to this one - especially the coronation day dress - but for 29$ it will definitely work!

At the toy stores Facebook page, there are a couple kids in dresses. There is a 10 year old in an extra large (size 7-9) and two girls together in a Medium (one is a tall 3, the other a new 4).
