I am thinking about a trip to WDW in February 2017....nothing firm...BUT....if they are closing Ellen's Energy Adventure sometime after that in 2017, I MUST get there before the attraction closes.

I know many people think it is boring, outdated, a real snoozer...and I won't dispute that....but I am a very sentimental person and that ride has been a staple for our family trips ever since it opened. And I would be really bummed if I did not experience one final ride with Ellen and Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Anyone have any solid or quasi solid information about the closure date of this ride....it could greatly sway me to definitely come down in early 2017.

I will not be happy when that ride closes...just like my sadness over Comedy Warehouse and the Adventurer's Club closure....I so miss those two places....my kids loved them and my Grandson would really love them....but they are both gone....forever. :worried:

Next it will be the Carousel of Progress, then Spaceship Earth....maybe even the Enchanted Tiki Room !!!

It's not a guarantee that it will close. Disney could close the attraction tomorrow and you'd be out of luck. To be safe incase it does close I'd go early 2017 but again it might close earlier or it might not close at all. Things change all the time. You have to remember that the parks are not museums.

It's true that they aren't museums, but when they already have so many vacant buildings in that area, it makes no sense to me to close another attraction until something is done with all the existing vacant space, i.e., innoventions east and west, horizons, comunicore, Odyssey, to name just the ones that pop into mind at the moment.

I am definitely in agreement there but at the very least UoE could be updated. It's not a great attraction in its current form.

I don't dislike the attraction, but for me the biggest strike against it is that it's a major time suck. The last time I clocked it, it took us 45 minutes to get in and out of there... that was with no line.

UofE was completely empty our entire trip last week. It needs a rehab (and not GoG).

I was more upset with the conditions of the Communicore/Innoventions buildings. Exits closed off, construction walls everywhere. It was a total bummer.

Wonders of Life pavillion is getting TLC each and every year. They've been getting to fix up small issues each festival cycle. I thought it was looking quite good, and I was never a fan of that pavillion.

But you can get an awesome nap in!:dancer:

Agree about the great NAP location, and it's also air conditioned.

Agree it needs to go.

Agree it is not on the top of the list of EPCOT locations that need to be worked on.

Think current Disney management is all about operational cost... they want to increase crowd capacity without impacting operational cost.

Ahhhh, I guess I am too nostalgic.....great memories of going on this ride with my kids when they were little...and now, my Grandson enjoys it....and I have younger Grandchildren that I want to take on Ellen's ride....
