RIP:sad1: She passed away this morning at the age of 79.

WHAT???????????? :sad1: :sad1: she was so beautiful!

Such a shame. But I can't say it was a total surprise. She hadn't been doing well lately it seemed. :guilty:

This thread title made me so sad. She was an icon just like Marilyn and Sinatra. Nothing like her before or ever again. Rest In Peace Liz. I hope Richard was there to meet you.
Smart, talented, gorgeous women who give of themselves and make such a ruckus are such a pleasure to watch. I remember seeing her when I was a little girl and being amazed at how beautiful she was. She was in the lobby of a hotel in California with a large entourage. She smiled at me. It seemed to me that everyone in that lobby was watching her; they probably were.

Such sad news, she was so very talented and those eyes. I always wondered what they meant by lavender eyes but I have a friend who actually has eyes that color, they are an odd blue that look sort of lavender, so lovely and unusual. My favorite work of hers is the alcoholism based drama "Cat on a hot tin roof" , it's on netflix instant if anyone else is feeling nostalgic, she and Paul Newman

I agree, it's an end of an era. She did so much for others and she was a lovely woman

Just watching this on TV now. Forgive me for saying so, but I would have guessed she was older. It seems like she was famous forever.

RIP, Ms. Taylor.

Very sad. National Velvet is one of my favorite movies ever.

True Hollywood is going away.

I said on the other thread related to this, I was reading about old screen legends last night. I was surprised but had remembered that Lauren Bacall was still around. Women back then were beautiful and classy...very few of them are now.

I had the same sort of experience with the late Elizabeth Montgomery (Samantha Stevens-Bewitched). When I was younger, she was in our town for the Soap Box Derby. It left a lasting impression on me.

R.I.P. Elizabeth Taylor.
