Elephant Ears

I see I can get Elephant Ears at Epcot in France. What kind of toppings can you choose? Just powdered sugar or cinnamon, or do they have jam also?
 
I believe this is a totally different thing than you think it is. It is not the fried dough but a kind of pastry.
 
I think you're mixing them up with "beaver tails" -- a Canadian fried dough treat that they used to have in Epcot.

Elephant Ears is the "English" name for palmiers. They are basically cookies that have been made from puff pastry, sprinkled with plain sugar, and rolled into a stick and then both ends are curled in ... resulting in the look of ears or palm leaves. I couldn't find a pick here on the boards, but you can see them on this recipe:

Disney anglifies a lot of the treats. Napoleons are called "Mille-Feuilles" here in Canada. I don't find many of the treats in Epcot to be all that authentic. :confused3
 
I found this pic on the food thread ... from the Bistro restaurant, the cookie on top is an "elephant ear."

Yes-at the French Bakery-it looks like pic above-BUT BIGGER
Just a crunchy sugary glaze on it and they are fAB-u-lOUS!:thumbsup2
