Who has done this spa treatment before? It sounds great! But I'd like to hear some reviews before I dish out that much $$ :teeth: TIA!

It is to DIE for!!!

I have never had any type of spa treatment before, but my dh and I treated ourselves on our October cruise...He really wanted to try the hot stones. (I was a bit hesitant)

After having it done, I think it's going to be hard to be satisfied with a "regular" massage!! We both couldn't believe how great it felt and how much it relaxed our muscles! Wonderful!

I would definitely do it again...and recommend it to everyone!!

karen :)

I was a spa virgin on our last trip and I booked this and it was WONDERFUL! I was so relaxed I was not sure I was going to be able to stand up afterwards. It is pricey but I went ahead and booked it again for our cruise next month. I am really looking forward to it. :)

This is a great massage, I have had it on three disney cruises. I usually get it after a day of activity, it's really good on sore leg muscles. I must warn that you will be pretty greasy after, the stones are rubbed with the massage oil on your body and placed on pressure points.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I  it!!! My favorite spa treatment ever!!!! I'd say do it!!

One word of advice if you are going for this...do it BEFORE you spend a day at the beach and get sunburned! My friend and I both had this done the day after our Stingray City excursion and were sunburned and the stones felt like fire burning the skin. It was so not enjoyable. I think I really would have liked it if I was not already burned.

Hey Sue!

SleepyDog (I think) had this massage done. I am going to attempt to book it for my dh and I as a spa villa.

Countin' down to 90!!!

Hi Lisa!
I would love to get DH to do it, I never though of that! I don't know if he'll go for it--I'll have to work on it... :goodvibes (PS-Saturday our tickers first words will be 2 months!!! :Pinkbounc )

Both DH and I did it on our last cruise. It was amazing. DH had one complaint....the hot stones left definite "burn" marks on his chest. He didn't think they were too hot when they were put on, however, he was stuck with two red circles right below each shoulder for a day or so. I booked one again for our cruise next month, DH chose to skip it and go for a spa taster. All in all, I would certainly do it.

Hubby and I have done it. It was very nice, but we still prefer the well being massage for total relaxation.

That's odd about the "burn marks"....When we had our massage, the stones weren't really left in one place...They were moved around and used to do the massage....hmmmm

Anyway, my dh and I had never had massages...I didn't think my dh would go for it either...but there must be something with the ocean breeze...As soon as we got on the ship, he was like, "Let's go for it!!" He said he has NEVER had his muscles so relaxed before! We are both hooked!!

I've had the hot stone massages a few times and each time they were so relaxing that I fell asleep within minutes and missed the rest of the massage.
Next time I might try something a bit more stimulating like a swedish massage or something.

I was so happy to hear all the good recommendations as I have booked it for our January 20th cruise. Thanks for asking and answering.

We just came back from the 11/16 Wonder and had the couples hot stone massage. This was the first time my DH has had the stones, he loved it. I have had it done at a local spa before, and although the massage on the Wonder was great, I preferred the other. Beware of the upgrades/products they try to sell you.... they "upgraded" us to a back exfoliation for $52. I thought that was total, but when we got the bill it was per person, and tacked onto the $200 or so massage each, it got $$$ really quickly. But my back is at least really smooth now!!! :teeth:

I seem to be in the minority here, but I preferred the well being massage I had on the Wonder to the hot stone massage. Although the hot stone massage was nice, I didn't think it was worth the extra money. The stopping and starting of the massage while changing rocks, etc., broke the flow of the massage for me. In the future I will stick to the well being massages (and especially, for the atmosphere, the Castaway Cay cabana ones). However, perhaps my therapist just wasn't sufficiently skilled in the hot stone massage?
