Has anyone purchased a transformer or whatever it's called to charge your electronics? We will be traveling abroad later this summer and I definitely need to bring a dvd player on the plane for my 4 yr old DS and will need to charge it while we are there. We will be going to Portugal. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Check the charger on the DVD player. Most electronics will allow charging up to 220 or 240V. If that is the case, you don't need a transformer. I can tell you a couple of electronics which allow only an input of 110V - the standard DS charger and Oral-b electronic toothbrushes. For the DS you can get a travel charger so you can use it in Europe. Most, if not all laptop chargers will allow 220V. The one thing you need to get is an adaptor for the plug. It is different from the ones here in the US. Hope that helps. :)

Thanks. Anyone know where I can get a good adapter that won't ruin the dvd player? Best Buy? Radio Shack? TIA!!
I got mine at AAA. They had both adapters and converters. They were good quality, and not terribly expensive. I'd check them out. I'd take the DVD player with me so you can make sure you get the right thing.
