As many times as I've been to Disney World, I have never watched the Electrical Water Pageant.
I've heard seldom things about it too, so I'm just wondering:
1)Where's the best place to watch it from?
2)How pretty is it?
3)What time does it start?
4)How long does it last?

Thanks ya'll!

Oh wow! I hope you find your answer. I haven't seen it since I was a little kid staying at FW. I get to see it this winter (friends staying at WL) and I'm so excited!

You stopped me at 1.)- I would not touch that question with a 10ft pole. I know the new search feature is less than helpful, but if could find the other posts about this you would know why... :rolleyes1

Thanks for trying ya'll, but I still don't have any answers. I'm sad.
I can't believe I've never seen this before.

Its just a very short (5-7 minutes) "show" that takes place ON the lagoon.

You can see it if you can see the water near the MK resorts (on the Seven Seas Lagoon or Bay Lake), so just ask the front desk at any of those resorts when and where.

Be aware that (even though I ALWAYS see it and enjoy it) it is a very old and low-tech show.
Consider that it is made up of the kind of flashing-light Christmas yard displays that you can buy at Sears or Wal-Mart, mounted on a string of barges and towed slowly in-place on the water, accompanied by a "Casio" electric keyboard music track. :goodvibes

I say that so you won't expect too much, but just enjoy it as a small part of "Disney history."

Well, I've never seen it either. I was planning on seeing it this december but unfortunately, my Ohana ADR interferes. I do know however, you can watch it from the Polynesian resort, the wilderness lodge, the contemporary and the grand floridian. I know it goes by the Poly at 9pm, and contemporary at 10pm or so. I don't know about the others. I'm sure the allears website can give you more info. I think it lasts just a few minutes. Not very long at all. Hope this helps a little.

We watched it from the beach at WL 12/02. It was kinda hokey, but I actually enjoyed it alot. It seemed like it lasted about 15 minutes. Im not sure but it maybe turned around, or ended at WL?? Anyway, Im hoping to see it again from Contemporary in 2 weeks (woot!!) when we go. We have a Wishes cruise from there, and hope the timing works to see the EP when we re-dock at Contemporary beach. Anyone able to shed any light on the timing of that?? I think its an 8pm Wishes that night.

We have always stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and enjoyed this show. Sometimes we catch it on the boat ride back to the Lodge and sometimes from the balcony of our room. We usually catch it almost every night. Regardless, it is something to see and enjoy, and like all things Disney has a place somewhere in your heart.

Hope you enjoy!

We watched from the beach at the campground. It was after the middle HDDR I think the one that starts at about 7:30. We strolled down to the beach found chairs and sat and waited maybe 15 minutes top. We were so stuffed it was kinda nice to just sit for a change after eating rather than running somewhere else. My DS who is 8 of course wandered around the beach until it started but we were too stuffed. It is very cute and reminds me of when Disney was simpler. We really liked that evening and probably would rank it high up on the most memorable or enjoyable evenings.

One of my very favorite things to do at WDW! Watching the EWP! Either from the Poly in a hamock with by Wife by my side, or from the dock at Ft Wilderness, with my Wife by my side. Come to think of it, the EWP is wonderful from anywhere you can see and here it, as long as my Wife is by my side.

Okay - I have to confess that we once stopped in a small town to see the Melon Festival parade on our way to an anniversary weekend trip to Kansas. Obviously, I'm just way cool.

But I love the Electrical Water Pageant too - there is just a sweetness about it and I agree that the Polynesian is a great place to do just about anything.

We watched in in August from the balcony of our room at the Grand Floridian! I hadn't seen it for years before that. I would agree that as far as Disney goes it's one of the lower tech displays but I still think it's fun!

I hope you get a chance to see it!

The EWP is one of the things I'm most looking forward to sharing with my kids! When I was little it was one of my favorite parts of the trip. My mom used to put us to bed and then wake us up just to watch the parade outside our hotel (always the Contemporary.) For years I thought the parade was in the middle of the night, but really my mom must have been putting me to bed at 8 or something. :)

Excellent summary. We had just finished dinner at O'hana's on Friday 10/6. Walked down to the beach to catch the fireworks from MNSSHP and lo and behold the synthesizer music and lights appeared. Started at 9. I must say, it is a bit disappointing. It made it's way to Grand Floridian next, I think. You could hear the music move around as it visited the other resorts. Fireworks were excellent from the beach. They piped the soundtrack out of some speakers at the Polynesian.

In my opinion, Polynesian is the best. As for the start times, that depends on MK events, weather, and hotel as it moves from hotel to hotel. It only lasts for about 10-15 min at most. Hope you enjoy it.

We saw it on Fri 10/6 after the 7:15 Hoop De Doo at Fort Wilderness. We decided to take the boat to MK and as we got near the dock heard the fireworks. We caught most of the fireworks and saw the green lights on the water but didn't know what they were. As soon as the fireworks ended the water pageant began, my children loved it and that is what matters to me. Our timing was perfect and it set the tone for our entire vaca, something none of us will ever forget!

We've been going to WDW since 1977 and 38 some visits later still enjoy the Water Pageant. Its been running forever and its just alittle gift if your staying around the Bay Lake, Seven Seas Lagoon. We always try to catch it from somewhere during our stays. Granted its not high tech but to be running every night after all these years and its free for the viewing and to some people its a complete surprise to hear music out from the beach and have the lights come up, come on folks, its for the children and the children in us adults too.
