Electrical water pageant - damaged by Irma?

We watched the electrical water pageant last night and it was only half the normal length and show. It ended with the octopus- no 2nd half of show with the crocodile and King Triton. After the octopus it went right into "you're a grand old flag". Just wondering if anyone knows if this was damaged during Irma or if this started before the hurricane.

I know I’m responding to a post that is close to a month old, but I was at Poly this past weekend and it was still the same as what you describe. No second string of boats, just went straight to grand old flag after the first segment. Not really sure what is up? :confused3

Some of the floats were damaged.

We were in MK for a KTTK Tour on the 23rd and the floats were backstage in the parade area. The wired netting, with lights attached, was torn completely off in some sections.

I don’t think it was a priority to repair the damage as they were still removing downed trees from throughout the property.

I find it very hard to believe that the same people removing downed trees are the same ones fixing the barges.... but maybe.

The floats have to be disassembled before they can be repaired. Those CMs weren’t going to be assigned to something that wasn’t a priority. The floats were just sitting outside of one of the parade float barns.

The floats/boats will be repaired. :) A group of MK managers were discussing the damage when we walked by.

The parade float barns are filled with Boo to You, FoF, and a few MOUCParade floats - they are the priority right now being in the middle of Holiday Party season.

Hey hiroMYhero we did KTTK on the 23rd too! We were with Stephanie at 8am and we did see several damaged boats from the water parade. I'm surprised they are not fixed yet but hopefully all will be fixed soon.

Too funny! We toured together!! That was a great KTTK. We did one a few years ago but we really enjoyed touring with Stephanie

We were the group that when we were in the Utilidors, the arriving parade CMs kept coming over and hugging my DD who was with us! She is a FoF and show performer and Stephanie had been really confused as to why CMs were coming over. :) We did explain at the end of the tour and Stephanie thanked us for not saying anything ahead of time so as not to have intimidated her - she said she usually is when CMs are part of the tour.

Oh I hope they fix them- it is one of our must-sees, believe it or not! We stayed at the Poly on our last trip for the first time ever, and it was so special to get to see the parade so UP CLOSE every night. Love it!

I was on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour this past Sunday (Oct. 8th), and saw some of the floats were still damaged. I'm not sure how much of the parade is going out, but there were still some netting not fully attached to some of the floats.

Were the damaged floats still outside between the two parade float barns? That would mean they aren’t repairing them yet as they would move them to the barn for repairs.

Disney’s sending out the floats each night that are in working order.

Not a great pic, but this was last Thursday night. It’s just this segment (which is the first part of the show) then it cuts to grand ol’ flag, then over.

Yeah. The floats were on the water, but the ones we saw were closer between the two barns.

The hugs from Pluto! Very cute! KTTK was excellent - I highly recommend it. Hope you had a great trip.

Oh, bummer. I haven't seen it (besides bits and pieces) since the early 80's. Was really looking forward to it at our stay at Polynesian in two weeks. :(

Honestly, if you had not read this on DIS, you would probably see the shortened show they are running right now and not even notice something is missing.

I’ve seen it countless times and even I was questioning whether it was missing something. It ‘felt’ shorter and I thought maybe I had read something about some damage before going last week, but I had to come back and watch it on YouTube just to be sure! :-)

What is missing (or was as of two weeks ago) are the dinosaur, the jumping dolphins, and King Triton and his seahorses. I can't recall if this is precisely the back half of the show, as I don't remember if the octopus (still running) comes before or after the dinosaur. (A little YouTube would give a quick answer, but I'm lazy at the moment.)

Only because I’m a nerd and did check this the other day, you are correct. Plus the crocodile. The songs are roughly “Everyone do the Dinosaur,” “Crocodile,” and “Under the Sea” plus whatever is playing with the dolphins.
